When I asked the question, "who is your current favorite player, excluding goalties" a while back, no one mentioned a defenseman, so I guess we need a separate thread for that!
My favorite d-man is definitely
Al MacInnis of the St. Louis Blues.... his slap shot is WICKED... he's a Stanley Cup champion (1989)... he has a lot of "experience" ("old," in other words!
), but still is among the leaders in ice time per game!... it's a tragedy he had to wait until 1999 or something like that to win the Norris Trophy as the league's most valuable defenseman, because he's always been a steady player.
Who is everyone elses' CURRENT defenseman, and don't say "Ray Bourque," 'cuz he's gonzo!!!!!!
