View Full Version : Rams: Season over?
Now that their star players, Warner and Faulk are both injured, do the Rams stand a chance to keep winning? Face it - they are not as good of a team as they are with Faulk and Warner, arguably two of the best players in the league.
So how will the rest of their season go? They have a pretty easy schedule this way on, but we all saw their loss to Carolina. Is it only the beginning?

I'm driving to and from Blockbuster yesterday, and all I'm hearing is how horrible the Rams are doing in the game. I mean, they ONLY scored 24 points or so in this game, as opposed to their average of like 40 for the season.
But ... the season is not over for the Rams. They were missing their heart and soul ... Marshall Faulk (as you pointed out). Faulk could have played if he wanted to, but why risk injury if you know you're going to the playoffs and would rather be healthy than on the IR for the season?
The real league MVP -- Faulk -- will be back soon enough ... and the Rams will start winning. Don't worry about a silly loss to the Panthers. Oh yeah, it'll help too when they get their real kicker back.

Yeah, I heard they cut their kicker who missed several kicks in this past week's game...

Faulk is a bigger loss to the Rams than Warner is because Green is not a step down @ QB.He can be just as effective given enough time to read the field.
Bad luck for Marshall, though because I believe I've read that he had knee problems @ San Diego St. too and although scoping it will theoretically have him back in a couple weeks,I don't believe he will be really 100%.
Hopefully it also won't effect his mechanics and maybe cause another injury by favoring the "sore" knee.
I had heard that after he had the knee drained it was still locking and thats why he couldn't play.
Easy schedule, eh?I hope the Rams prepare for the Saints as if we're "easy"...We can't wait to get to them. They're only 1 game ahead of us in the Division although after spanking the 9ers Sunday we still have this weeks game against the Panthers.
Finally the Saints are winning the games they're SUPPOSED to.Success breeds confidence and...more success.
By the way I'm sure all New Orleans fans wish Marshall well...We like to see any New Orleans native do well.

Welcome, St.Bernard... I certaintly agree with you on the Saints. They have having a super season! I think they are certaintly a playoff team. It's good to see Ricky Williams finally shining after struggling last season.

The Rams season is definitely not over, however the defense will probably have to bring it up a notch for them to take the Super Bowl again.

Personally, I think that the Rams can last without Warner. However, when Faulk is gone, their team is gone. Faulk brought a running game, and a lot short passes that turned into long runs. Faulk brings an extra dimension to the team.
So, I predict them to lose a few, even to the Saints.
Warner is supposed to be back in a couple of weeks, but Fualk is said for 4-6 weeks, which will kill the Rams. Will Kirk be able to bring the Rams from Self Destruct Mode to Super Bowl Champs? If the team is in full health by playoff time, yes. However, I see the Saints beating up on the Rams this upcoming week. If the Rams aren't in full health to take the Saints on in the Playoffs, they will be out.

Wait now...1 at a time...We got Carolina this week then the despicable Raiders before we meet the Rams for the first time this year in game 12 for us.
Warner still won't be back by then I don't think. (you just can't grip a ball and throw accurately without your little finger) and if Marshall were to be ready I don't see him in for more than a handful of plays anyway. Our defense is very physical.
Thats my .02¢ anyway.

So how about the Rams winning at the Meadowlands yesterday without Kurt Warner and without Marshall Faulk? That game kind of shocked me. I had picked the Giants to just play the clock with ball control offense and run the ball most every down. The turnovers just killed them.
I don't know. Maybe the whole N.F.C. East is just overrated.
The Rams' defense still isn't any great shakes but with Ricky Williams now out for about 4 to 6 weeks (or is it 6 to 8 weeks?) with the broken ankle, the Rams definitely have taken the inside track in winning the N.F.C. West again if there was any doubt before yesterday.
