You know, I don't even know where Blacksville is...

It is pretty funny, though. From a "pick on West Virginians" point of view.

Been a long time since I've even seen an outhouse. Used to hate using them. So f'in' disgusting. Worse than a porta-potty, because you never know when you're going to glance down and see something crawling around at your feet... or higher... :eek:

And using an outhouse in the DARK?? Forget about it, I'll wait till morning. We never went the length of arming the outhouse (we had one while my grandpa built his house), but it was discussed from time to time. Never know what animals lurk...

When I was a kid, my grandparents had a summer home on an island in Maine. It had an outhouse and the outhouse had a direct line to the cliffs on the ocean. You definitely didn't want to go walking the cliffs at low tide. Since then it's been put on septic, but it's still funny to think about how nasty things used to be.

Dave was defending WV in another thread, and here it gets exposed and made fun of ... I guess the younger crowd would get it. ;)

As for outhouses ... never used one, just "Portapotties" at football games and whatnot. :uhoh:

As IF Kentucky doesn't have its share of ignitable outhouses, Marc.

For that matter, the state in which you reside now likely has its share, too.

That story about the outhouse in Maine is actually pretty gross. Who needs industrial waste? Let's just dump our own.... in the Atlantic.

Good stuff. More outhouse talk is definitely necessary during the Sports Dead Zone we call July.
