South Carolina Has New Coach

Dave Odom of Wake Forest will take over the coaching job at South Carolina next year. He leaves a good Wake Forest team where he was a good coach..He is replacing Eddie Fogler who had a 15-15 year. Eddie Fogler decided to leave coaching all together. Good Luck to him in his new ventures.

Dave Odom is a good coach, I never saw this coming. Remember, he had some good players like Tim Duncan. Glad to have another solid coach in the SEC.

Yes I think Odom will be good for South Carolina. I like you did not see that coming. The last I had read online they were trying to get Gonzaga's coach to come to South Carolina.

I think that just about everyone was blindsided by the news. In reading one of the local newspapers (Raleigh News and Observer), Odom was having a devil of time (no pun intended) recruiting because of the apparent minuses of Wake Forest (small private university). He apparently is happy to go to a state school like South Carolina. The man is a proven commodity - Buzz Peterson hasn't had a whole lot of head coaching experience at a major level - the SEC East keeps getting more interesting by the day...
