This story will warm the heart of all you 49er fans out there, if anything can at this point:
Cards RB Shipp breaks leg, out 8-12 weeks (http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/ARI/7557908)

It's a shame for the Cards. No doubting that Shipp would have handled most of the carries as the year went on. Looks like Emmitt's going to have to drag his old ass around the field for a little more than expected.

I remember one day, about ten years ago, when I jokingly stated that I'd like to put a HIT on Emmitt Smith and put him on his backside. Sometimes ... it seems ... that the reason he doesn't retire is cuz he's waiting for me ... GULP!?!

First Shipp, now Anquan Boldin is also injured; (http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/ARI/7565727) no word on how seriously yet though.
Remember that the 49ers haven't finished last in their division since 1979, and that's the longest active streak for this in the NFL - so this is more "welcome news" in the Bay Area for those who would like to see the streak stay intact.

Word is out now. Boldin will be out 8-12 weeks. Ouch.
Well, at least now Bryant Johnson will get his opportunities, while Green is busy trying to get Fitzgerald the rookie receptions record.

Yeah, I heard on the radio he is out probably until sometime in October at the earliest.

Josh McClown will be lucky if he completes 102 passes overall, much less to Fitzgerald alone!
