Wow, if there is one area the Skins can least afford an injury they got a major one last night. Jon Jansen ruptured his Achilles tendon last night and is gone for the year. Bad news for a team who has had spotty line play at best the past couple of seasons.

There's GOOD news, too. I know it was just one game, and a preseason one at that, but Sean Taylor was a BEAST last night. Quite an entrance into the league. I'm not a Skins fan, but if I was I'd be giddy about him. I expect huge things from him.

That is a tough one to gauge on one-hand he had two picks on the other hand it was Matt Mauck who has little to no chance at making the opening day roster. They may keep him for the practice squad. I watched the first quarter and a half or so and don't remember him doing much when the first and second team offenses were on the field. It is a positive sign for 'Skins fans though because there has been some clamoring on sports talk radio that he has looked brutal in practice and has been showing signs of being a bit of a problem child. But, as was said it is only the first preseason game and teams typically don't showcase their playbooks in the preseason. Usually the third preseason game is a good gauge of how the team is coming together.

I was liking what I saw in Sean Taylor last night. Right now, I am more than happy we took him over Winslow. Early days yet though.

Sean Taylor will be one of, if not the best safety in the NFL in a couple years. I remember watching the Florida State-Miami game and he was all over the field making the big plays. I wouldn't be surprised to see Taylor be the Rookie of Year this season, he's already got the tools to be a successful defensive back. Skins fans will be glad they didn't they didn't end up with Kellen Winslow.
