How many days do you find yourself wandering the television channel lineup, wasting time before the college lineup for Labor Sunday starts, and have a life-changing event?

Not very often, that's for sure, but...

While scanning the channel lineup this morning, I discovered that in the utmost secrecy and quiet, my cable company has added the NFL Network to its channel lineup.

After I hopped up and down and hooted and hollered this life-changing channel lineup, my wife informed me that she'd be filing divorce papers, and expected to have full custody of our daughter.

BUT HOLY CRAP!! WE HAVE THE NFL NETWORK!!!!

WAAA-HOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

(j/k re: the divorce and custody stuff, of course, though the glare I got suggested something like that was going through her head)

Damn Dave, my stomach dropped when I read this sentance and figured you were truly flipping out. Glad you added that just kidding part.

As far as getting the NFL network, I hope you enjoy it you rotten bastard.

I just got NFL Network too, as part of that $5 package I was discussing on another thread (Fox Sports World, Atlantic, Central, Pacific, NBA TV, GolTV, and NFL Network for 5 bucks a month!)

In my week with it, I've seen that on Friday and Saturday Nights they have a show from 7 to midnight featuring live look-ins on all the preseason games going on (very cool!) and the rest of the weekend showing these games in their entirety.

Zap2it.com tells me that on Sunday Afternoon, they will be showing a program called "Red Zone" which has the latest news and scores. Will it primarily be about live look-ins and 5-minute snatches of each game as well? I would think not, but it is run by the NFL, so perhaps. If so, it's the next best thing you can get to NFL Sunday Ticket (or going to a sports bar with a dozen screens).

Dave, my wife would never consider divorcing me over that. She may move out of the house until football seaon was over, but divorce? lol

You lucky *****. Our cable company won't add it. And my mom won't get Direct TV to get it. I WANT IT SO BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I go home I'll have to check mine - a couple of weeks ago I accidentally discovered that TVG (the horse-racing channel) is on there, so maybe NFL Network is included as well.

And in March, ESPN will launch a college-sports network called ESPNU. I'd love to get it, but I'm not holding my breath, as my cable company clearly seems to favor Fox for sports (we don't even get ESPN Classic....WTF???)

Whoa! You don't get ESPNClassic, the greatest sports channel in history!!

I saw the ESPNU news, and wondered if they'd made a play to take over College Sports TV, but saw nothing on that. So, I guess CSTV is likely to fold in the next year or so. Too bad. (NOt that I ever watched it, but I emailed my cable company for it as often as I did for NFL Network)
