I know I dogged on the Chiefs in some of my earlier posts. After watching a couple KC preseason games I probably have to change my opinion that they're not an AFC powerhouse anymore.

I should know first hand how much your defense improves removing Robbinson from the scenario. Even though the Cheifs didn't make any bigtime off-season moves, they're fist team defense looks pretty sharp.

I know you can't lose the division in the first week but if the Broncos don't win tonites game it's time to start asking a lot of questions. This is the perfect test to see if the Broncos put together a dominating defense. This game is at home and a must win.

If.....the Broncos can shut down KC's offense and I mean shut down. Holding them to 13 points or less. You have to consider them as a top contending team for the AFC championship.

Forget Q Griffin it's Tatum time. This kid is very Clinton Portis like and I would be surprised if he doesn't take the #1 running back spot in the first couple of weeks. I know everyone is asking a lot of questions about the Broncos offense but Shannahan shows nothing of his plans in the preseason.

This game is just as important as the Pats and Colts was to determine the AFC power struggle.

Never thought I'd say this, especially in his waning years, but...

It's quite something to hear Pat Sumerall doing a TV broadcast again. Mike Patrick is out for health reasons, and Summerall is doing the play-by-play in his stead.

Hearing his voice again actually made me smile. Not being a Summerall lover, this surprised me. I'll probably actually miss him when he leaves the Earth.

I like Mike Patrick, as I thought he was the best of the 3 Sunday Night commentators. However, I'm with you Dave, it is refreshing to hear Summerall because he just seems to personify commentating NFL football, even if he isn't a "great" announcer.

As far as the game goes, I hope the Chiefs win, but they are losing right now 24-17. Kansas City is a tough team to figure out, mainly because they surprised a lot of people last season. Personally, I hope they go far.

What is the deal with the Denver running backs? I mean, they can put anyone in there and have success. It really is a credit to their offensive line. 3 TDs for Griffen already.

24-24 right now. But I think there will be a lot more scoring.

Griffin should have had a fourth TD, but Wesley made a nice play on the ball at the goal line.

Meanwhile, the left-handed toss up into the linebacking corps by one Mr Jake "The Fake" Plummer is why Peter King is such a retard for thinking the guy can play in this league week after week. Without that play, maybe the Chiefs are still trailing. Instead, they're tied at the start of the 4th... what a bleeping idiot that guy is. Those guys. Plummer and King.

Clinton Portis? We don't need no stinkin' Portis!! Sayeth Mike Shanahan.

And he was right. Quentin Griffin was amazing tonight.

Of course, it was KC's weak-ass defense, so...

It's amazing what Summerall can do when he isn't sitting next to a ****ty color commentator that tries to steal spotlight.

Hmm. I was thinking he sounded out of sorts a bit. Theismann and Paul (I've lost his last name!) kept looking feeling out of sync to me. Of course, it was their first game back, so maybe it was that.

There was something he kept harking back to, I forget what right now (it'll occur to me when I'm no longer searching), in what felt like was an attempt to create a discussion with Theismann and Paul and they weren't getting it. Funny thing was, I agreed that the discussion needed to be had, but they seemed unwilling to have it for some reason.

Meanwhile, I was saddened that KC lost the way that they did. I get the creeping suspicion people will begin crediting Plummer for these wins. And I don't believe Plummer WINS anything. His team overcomes him to win. Which makes it doubly hard on his team. They have overcome Mr Throw-it-lefty-when-I'm-a-righty AND their opponents.

I didn't hear much of the game last night, but I thought Summerall did really good in the preseason games that he did.

Didn't somebody here say that Denver was going to win the game 34-24?
