For Everyone: Welcome to another year of SCMB’s College Football Pick ‘em game. Everyone is welcome to give their picks. Simply select the team from the 10 featured games above whom you think will win and list them in your post. For the specified game (the tiebreaker), you must post the total combined score of the game in addition to the winning team. Good luck!
Each week, I will do my level best to get the games for the following week posted no later than Tuesday, 9pm. I’m going to slide on that, I’m sure, at least once. If there’s nothing posted by Wednesday morning, start berating me all over the forum.
If there are games you'd like to see in next week's contest, PM me with those games.
Be sure to try to get your picks in by the time the first game on the list starts.Late entries cannot be honored. If you’re not in the Eastern time zone, adjust your submission times accordingly.
Don’t forget to supply points for the tie-breaker!!
I will attempt, as the first post, to comment on each game, in case you’re wondering how it made the cut.
That’s it!
First game kicks off at 12.00p ET on Saturday !! Good luck.

Week Six Games Synopsis
West Virginia @ Virginia Tech I admit it. One of the reasons this game is on the list this week is because they Mountaineers are my team. Sue me. Still, WVU’s slow march to semi-respectability requires a win in Blacksburg. Consider that the Hokies opened as short favorites (2 points) and it fits several bills. The Mountaineers need a better performance on offense than they’ve had in their last two weeks. The Hokies are stumbling badly, with Beamer Ball failing wildly everywhere you look. The Hokies can revive a disappointing season by starting October with a win. Of course, winning in October and November has been a struggle for VT.
Wake Forest @ North Carolina State Winners by hairs last Saturday, the Demon Deacons and Wolfpack are both fighting for position in the middle of the recently expanded ACC. The Deacons will be looking to continue to play their rough and tumble style while the Wolfpack will be seeking some semblance of an offense. The Deacons defense will make that search pretty difficult.
Purdue @ Notre Dame Of what are the Boilermakers made? Coming off a game in Champagne in which Purdue couldn’t quite create enough separation from Illinois. Notre Dame, after opening with a road loss at BYU, has replied by stunning Michigan, beating Michigan State, and whipping the hapless Huskies of Washington. Do the Irish have another Big Ten upset in their sights? Or will Orton and company overpower the Irish with the nation’s highest scoring offense?
LSU @ Georgia A tough inter-divisional SEC matchup. Two noteworthy defenses, neither offense has fared well against good defenses. Should be a grind-it out, low-scoring affair. That said, it’ll probably turn into a shootout, 45-42.
California @ Oregon State Cal’s returning from a lo-ong layoff. The Beavers were held to negative rushing yards at Arizona State. Will the rust wear off quickly for Tedford’s high powered offense, or will the Beavers grab a much needed victory?
Kansas State @ Texas A&M Big 12 game of the week, at least by the point spread. Franchione’s system is starting to suit the Aggies, while Snyder’s Wildcats are headed downward without an experienced quarterback. Darren Sproles’ Heisman candidacy seems aborted after troublingly unproductive early games. The Aggies look good, but they’ve looked good against bad opponents.
Southern Miss @ South Florida If the Bulls of South Florida hold any hopes of stealing the Conference USA title in their final season as a member, they have to beat the Golden Eagles from Southern Miss. The Bulls won an exciting game over previously highly-considered TCU last week. Southern Miss comes off a win over Tulane. Whoever wins still will have to get past Louisville, but the whenever two of the conferences top three teams take to the field, it’s always good to pay attention.
Brigham Young @ Colorado State The Cougars are the best 1-3 team in the nation. They play tough defense, and while they’ve had injuries that have led to offensive struggles at times, are coming off a heartbreaking loss on the road at Boise State’s blue turf. The Rams are working to gather themselves and save their season. They could make headway toward that with a conference win.
Arizona State @ Oregon Sun Devils. Ducks. Walter. Clemens. How will Arizona State fare the Ducks? This has been one of those fireworks style games in the past. It’ll probably end 17-14.
Auburn @ Tennessee The only matchup of two top ten teams this week, the Vols continue to go with the two-headed freshman monster at QB, while the Tigers continue to look much more the part of the SEC title contender they were purported to be a year ago. This one should be good. Let’s hope this time the SEC officiating doesn’t determine the winner of the game, though.

Virginia Tech, cause they're at home.
North Carolina State, no-brainer.
Purdue, line moved for Purdue from +1 to -3 in three days, with good reason.
Oregon State in a shocker.
Georgia, surprisingly easy.
Texas A&M, they've shown a tad more.
Southern Miss, USF hungover from TCU and hurricanes.
Brigham Young, I've learned my lesson on Colorado State.
Arizona State in a blowout.
Auburn in a tight one (47).
