Wow, Maryland just pulled what is possibly the upset of the year dropping FSU 20-17. Florida State was just outplayed and outcoached today. Maryland just wanted the game more than the Seminoles did.
The ACC officials did not disappoint either as this was possibly one of the worst officiated games I have seen in a while. I am all for letting guys play but some of the stuff they let go was pretty ridiculous.

upset, but not upset of the year. Despite Maryland's record they are a good team that has been tight with everyone except for Georgia Tech. The fact that Maryland had never beaten FSU gives the game upset creditdentials though. Hopeully they'll do it again next week agasint U.V.A. I can't see this upset bigger than Mississipi State over Florida, Troy over Missouri, Fresno over Kansas State. (the last two might not seem to important but they were at the time.
Plus I think Texas ANM might has a decent chance at beating Oklahoma next week. If MSU can pull it out in OT thats a pretty good one too. Heck- UNC don't look to bad agasint Miami
yeah, anyway, FSU played terrible. espeacially Sexton. Maryland proved thier a pretty good team and I think they win some of their big games coming up.

I say it is given that Florida, Kansas State, and Missouri are no longer ranked and were not Top five teams when they lost those games. They may have seemed big at the time, but in retrospect those teams are clearly not as good as folks thought early on.
Maryland has played it close because of their good defense, They put up more yards today, 405, than they had in their three previous games combined.
It seems pretty apparent early on that the officials are not going to let Miami lose this game against UNC.

But the upset of the year actually took place today in Waco, Texas, when Baylor beat a team in the Big XII that wasn't Kansas.
Incredible stuff. Not to diminish what Maryland did, but wow was today a good day for taking the 'dog straight up.

After watching FSU struggle with mediocre teams('cuse, Wake) on the road and lose there only other raod game(miami), and not being a great or dominat team for the last 3 years now, how big of an upset is this road game really?
This upset was, More name, then game really.
Now Baylor, like Dave said.........that was an upset!
Fight On!

That one kinda cements Maryland as a threat even in their down years.

Come on, gconn... never heard of a team looking ahead?
Texas A&M gets a sort of pass from me on two aspects: 1. Oklahoma is next week 2. Road game
I'm not saying Texas A&M shouldn't get beaten on for losing to Baylor, but I would venture a guess that Franchione's staff spent all of one day preparing for Baylor and the rest of the week was spent prepping for Oklahoma. Which is bad coaching, but...
A team like Texas A&M doesn't lose to Baylor without some fairly extenuating circumstances.
