I'm happy for them putting up with a league like that and coming through to a much more competitive, not to mention better paying, league.

Hmm, maybe this is the true reason for the XFL, to give the NFL a look at some other players?

But seriously, this has to be a slap in the face to the XFL. After getting all these players to play in the XFL, their better players are moving on the greener pastures of the NFL. I don't blame the players though.

Plus, if this happens year after year (assuming the XFL survives) there will be no continuity or stability to the XFL. If a team finally gets a high-caliber performance out of its RB, for example, he won't be there next year for the fans, he'll probably be in the NFL.

Maybe I'm blowing it out of proportion too, though, it is 1 AM here. :D

They didn't get payed a SINGLE PENNY to go to training camp. Well, tonight, they WILL get payed."

Oooohhhhhhh..... a whole $25,000!?... wwwooowwwww....

Base pay was $45,000 for the entire season + $2,500 per win. That's far better than what I make in a year, assuming a couple of wins, of course.

I think the XFL always assumed that it would be used as a minor league. The goal was not to go head-to-head with the NFL. Minor league sports are often exciting in and of themselves, for the charge that one gets watching to see people try for that second chance at stardom. I think the NFL would be better served if they used the XFL more than the NFLE as a minor league. No cost to them to keep it afloat, and the players are more easily viewed, as they are right here on American soil.

04-30-2001, 07:35 PM
LB Jonathan Jackson
DL Larry Fitzpatrick
DL Hubert Thompson
DL Jermaine Miles
K Jeff Hall

And Jeff Hall is headed for the starting job! However, I can't see why you are interpretting this as a good thing for the XFL that all their good players are leaving.

Hmm, so many familiar faces...
