I don't like that either. Just an example that there are rednecks in other countries.

Greenland is planning to organize polar bear hunts for rich tourists.
I think, I only think that most the tourist will be rich rednecks from America followed by England/Europe.

England is in Europe, but I'm sure you knew that. ;)

Yes, I know that.
What I mean is most would come from England than the other Europe Countries.
I only say England because I think of the African hunters of the late 1800's and early 1900's, sort of like the guy who hunted Robin Williams in Jumanji.

I'm against hunting this beautiful animal for any reason.
Typically I enjoy hunting but there's something wrong with hunting polar bears.

Hunting is hunting no matter what animal it is imo. I don't see how you can take issue with polar bears when you feel it's ok to shoot a deer etc, etc.

Deer destroy property and injure people running into the roads. Not to mention there are heck of a lot more deer than there are polar bears. Pennsylvania isn't the greatest place to learn about wilderness since hunting (and fishing) are extremely popular.

But this kinda reminds me of the people here in AZ who complain about bobcats roaming their neighbourhoods. Don't build your house on land where they roam, if you're worried about wild animals.
Kinda reminds me of the Denis Leary skit where he say's we only want to save the cute animals, where as a cow's a baseball glove.
I'm no animal rights activist by the way. I have no problem with hunting or hunters. If they are not endangered, then whats the problem?.

In Northern Canada, kids aren't allowed to go out for Halloween because polar bears roam town roads.

People destroy the world, create wars, kill off animals, murder, rape, etc... etc..
Not a good reason to kill deer, put up a fence.
Fences are worth **** unless you plan to built a large, wooden fence around you're garden or landscaping. That's impractical.
According to your theory we shouldn't do anything to attempt stopping harmful behavior. I suppose we shouldn't hunt deer to stop them from overpopulating and destroying (not to mention that it is a sport) and we might as well let rapists and murderers roam the streets since others will still do it.
If people want to hunt polar bears, let them hunt polar bears. It's just not something I would choose to do.

We should and do stop harmful behavior.
Hunting animals is a disgusting sport. There is a time when humans become civilized and do not need to kill especially for pleasure. There was a time where slapping your women around was accepted, "put here in her place". Over the years we have come to grow and mature, this behavior is not accepted in today’s society. When is the barbarian in man going to grow up? A man needs to kill to have fun? Feel dominant? I don't get it.
Have you ever killed an animal? It feels pain, THEY DO CRY, they love/care for their young and want to live. It is not an issue of is it right or wrong, everything should have the right to live. We humans keep taking up land and we are going to have issues with the wildlife.
I say we take the murders; rapists and violent criminals put them on an island and hunt them. Now that would be more of a challenge than hunting bears or deer and we would get rid of scum well saving money. Do you think people would stop breaking laws?

I am not going to lie, I do like deer meat and eat just about anything but I do not hunt.
Hunting for sport and hunting for food....
I wonder why man has not raised deer like he has cattle. It would be nice to walk into Publix and get a pound of deer meat
I hunt deer and on the rare occasion that I or my grandpa gets one, we do eat it. I can understand being angrered by someone hunting deer and then leaving it in the woods but hunting and eating one is entirely different. Hunting and eating a deer is no different than slaughtering and eating a cow.
I believe in hunting for sport and food. In my mind they go hand in hand.

Deer are not livestock.

I guess you could eat a polar bear but I don't think that is why Greenland is allowing this.
Article says,
"We expect that people who go after the really big trophies and who have earlier been on elephant hunts"
"polar bear hunts will help bolster the faltering economy in the northwestern part of the island by creating jobs for hunting guides"
Always about the money.

I don't believe there's anything wrong with hunting for sport and eat. If you want to hunt a polar bear, strip its fur and display it in your living room... well I think that's dumb. It's not like there's a whole lot of polar bears walking around.

What! I see them all the time here! I can't wait for someone to come kill a few of these walking snowballs off.

There's truth in this, but we are only human, Pimpbot. Surely you would rather go out on a deer hunt than a koala hunt.
I don't think it's too much to ask that the distinction should be drawn in only hunting what we are going to EAT. Sure, we can't force feed hunters venison, but many hunters do eat it anyway, so that makes it acceptable besides the problems deer pose that have been mentioned above. No one is planning on eating these polar bears. So I can't quite buy your argument that all animals should be viewed equally from a hunting perspective. There's a big difference between food and control hunting, and trophy hunting.
