WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Bush administration has been carrying out secret reconnaissance missions to learn about nuclear, chemical and missile sites in Iran in preparation for possible airstrikes there, journalist Seymour Hersh said Sunday.

The first thing I thought of was, America can not afford it but that thought quickly went away, I can see Bush doing it. This will be a mess, Iraq and now Iran, America will bite off more then it can chew. You know N. Korea "Axis of evil" will figure they are next and we could have WWIII on our hands.
I would like to hear some thoughts on this.

To me, the biggest thing in this is the continued move from CIA ground work to brute military force. I think the administration needs to take a step back and realize that the CIA needs bodies on the ground doing field work. It does no good to just toss money at the CIA when they don't need more money, but need these field agents.
But, the administration can say "look, we gave the CIA all this money and the results aren't what we want." At which time they get to blow **** up.

Doug...
Using the CIA in covert operations to uproot foreign threats like it did all those years in weeding out communist movements in Africa and Central America would make too much sense. Let's blow **** up is the way to go ! Seriously though, I've been crying that river since 9-11 and no one wants to hear it. Why? No clue.
On the actual prospect of this happening....mmm....doubt it. Lame duck President, surprisingly uncooperative Congress, mounting $ concerns, lack of support for Bush/Republicans WITHOUT a draft in place now ( which would have to be seriously looked at again despite the blowout loss it was dealt in Congress late last year) would seem to do any plan of attack in.
Don't worry though, we'll be in Iraq for atleast 6 more years to blow stuff up there.

U.S.A and Israel needs to hit them hard and now-not troops-just old fashioned bombings from B-52's.

Yes, I'm quite certain we can spare another $200-500B to go about doing this.
Cheney needs to keep it in his pants, that bleepin' bleepity-bleep.
