Do you guys think Pedro will take the CY Young award? It looks as though he has something to prove.

Well, I want to see how he does the second time around the league after everyone has had a chance to see him, and let us just wait and see how long it takes until his arm starts breaking down on him again. He has been good for coming out of the gates blazing hot the first two months only to have a tired arm by the break and have to start missing starts and taking extra days off in between starts.

I have watch pedro pitch fo a long time. It is not phsyical with him. He is on a mission to spite the sox. Which is good for a Mets fan. he is getting his second wind of what will be a great Hall of Fame career.

Pedro has pitched very well so far this season, but he still has a long way to go before he is coronated as the Cy Young winner. He has to continue at this pace, and hope that the rest of his team plays reasonably well. He can't win games by himself.

Cy Young Award is wayyyyyyy down the road. It will be interesting to see how Pete does in the NL.

Oooooh...the AL has been known as the hitting league, but I actually like to watch a good pitching performance, and generally the NL so far has offered up some great duels.
And it's pretty sad that the best pitchers in the NL, aces even, get no-decisions or even losses because either the bullpen or their team's offensive ineptness can't bail them out. After getting rocked the first game, Smoltz has settled down but still can't get the W (not sure if he got one today).
And the Mets relievers better hold up their ends of the deal for Pedro to get some consideration. Everyone's talking about the Marlins' young guns, Hudson looked good against...the Rocket - 1 ER in 21 innings. If he keeps up this pace (just a LITTLE offense, Houston!), definitely a strong Cy Young pick.

Could be possible. I'd say it's a toss up between Hudson, Pedro, Beckett and Willis. But still too early to tell.

Either of the top 3 in the Astros rotation could be a potential Cy Young winner, but Oswalt and Clemens have a better shot at it since Pettitte is still gettin in his groove recovering from the surgery.

Way too early to call for a Cy Young winner. This early in the season, take your pick at who could be a CY Young award winner.
How about Jake Peavy? Gets no pub being in San Diego, but he's an absolute ace (for my fantasy team :D). He's 2-0 with a 1.31 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and 26 Ks.

Just about every team has a Cy Young candidate at this stage of the season.
