Carlos Beltran is a starter in the All-Star game! what a joke! meanwhile Miguel Cabrera, Andruw Jones, and Carlos Lee are all backups. Beltran should not even be in the game. good thing he plays in NY, otherwise he could never be able to get enough dopes to vote him in. when you look at this numbers vs all the other OF's Beltran sticks out like a sore thumb. worst batting avg and fewest hrs out of everyone in.
Kenny Rogers is a child and should have been left off the all-star team.
4 Red Sox starters- V-Tek, Damon, Manny, Ortiz.
6 starters from the Cards- Pujols, Rolen, Eckstein, Edmonds, Isringhausen and NL starting pitcher Chris Carpenter.

I'm glad Derrek Lee is a starter, and I find it funny that Nomar was 3rd in voting without playing 90% of the games so far this year.

Actually, I believe Rolen has lowest average, fewest homers, and fewest RBIs of anyone who got voted in. Though I agree that Beltran does not deserve to be there either.

What about Morgan Ensberg from Houston?
Scott Rolen .260 Avg. 5 HR 22 RBI
Aramis Ramirez .301 Avg. 18 HR 52 RBI
Morgan Ensberg .287 Avg. 18 HR 59 RBI
He certainly beats out Rolen

Having Carlos Beltran elected to the game cost Cliff Floyd his chance to play. Floyd is far more deserving, as Beltran has not played up to his usual standards.
Rolen over Ensberg is another problem for me. Ensberg will get his chance next season, I hope. He seems to have his career going in the right direction.
I think the AL team looks pretty good.

Giles over anyone but Cabrera and Abreu is something that I consider unusual.

Given that he misspelled some rather easy words in the English language I would say the odds are reasonably good that he is not sober...
I mean how exactly does one get riped?

corey patterson is a crazy all-star selection, but i thought jim edmonds should have been the nl mvp last year. he was putting up numbers right there w/ rolen and pujols and they got mvp buzz, but he is he is sickest center fielder of our time. his bat + his glove made him a better all-round guy then bonds or rolen or pujols.

Jim Edmonds NL MVP? There is someone named Barry Bonds you know...

edmonds is better w/ the glove then bonds. edmonds led all center fielders in hr's, rbi, slugging, and ops.
bonds only had 3 more homeruns and 10 less rbi then edmonds. i give jim the edge due to his sick leather.
bonds is going to be a shell of his former self when he comes back and is going to put up numbers much like sosa is right now.

It doesn't matter that Edmonds is better than the glove. Bonds's offense FAR outshone Edmonds's glove. Bond has 3 less HRs and 10 less RBI because he had 125 more AB than him. Also, Bonds was too busy getting on base FAR more than Edmonds and hitting the ball MUCH better than Edmonds. It's just plain silly to call Edmonds a more valuable player than Bonds.

i know. thats what im talking about. i said that because it was a responce to the Corey Patterson comments. sure Edmonds over Bond is silly. but im just saying if i could vote for someone it would be him for the reasons ive mentioned.

I am a diehard Cards fan and even I don't think Edmonds was MVP last year. He was not even the MVP of the Cards. If anyone it was either Rolen or Pujols. I love Edmonds' game but Rolen and Pujols were the guys that made that team go last year.

Edmonds put up similar numbers to Rolen and Pujols. i know my arugment is silly but oh well. im just saying he is my mvp because of his complete all-around game.

Well, you could just say he was the best all-around player last year, but certaintly not the MVP.

There is a huge difference between MVP and the Most Outstanding Player in the league. Derrek Lee is the MOP this year, but I don't think I would vote him as the MVP of the league at this stage right now.
