Here's something: Brian Leetch won the Norris Trophy (top d-man) in his 5th and 10th seasons. Now, he's in his 15th season and is in a good running for it so far... what does everyone think?.... will the five-year trend continue!??

I haven't been following this that closely, but I can say one thing: you certaintly don't improve once you get that far in your career - after you have reached your prime, you start going downhill.

Right Marc, but Leetch is playing awesome this year after being terrible in the past few seasons where many thought he should just hang up the skates.

This year, though, Leetch leads all d-men in scoring so far with 36 points -- that's ahead of second-placed Detroit's Nicklas Lidrtsom who has just 24 points. He also leads all d-men in total ice time/game with 14 minutes, 28.08 seconds.

...if he keeps it up, he will definitely be, at the least, a nominee, but again the age factor comes into play, because, as you said Marc, the older you get, the more and more you go downhill... for most players -- Gretzky still had 60 points in his second last season, and M. Lemieux lead the NHL in scoring his last year (or 2nd in scoring?)!!!

Leetch I think will win. His stats are very impressive. Why just the other night he and Fleury both had 3 assists each.
