I am so ready for Spring Training!:)
Ordered my tickets for two games so far:
Indians vs Braves March 5 in Winter Haven
Braves vs Astros March 14 in Kissimmee @ Disney
I love spring training. I have about 10 teams within an 80 mile radius from where I live. The weather is perfect, the players are more fan-friendly & laid-back (pictures & autographs galore!) the beer cold - how fabulous!!!
Anyone else coming down to Fla or out to Arizona for spring training?

I love spring training also. I have the A's traning facility at the end of my street and the Giants is about a mile away in the other direction. Don't have any tickets yet, but I imagine I'll take in one or two games. I can pretty much get to all the Cactus league parks except for the one in Tucson within about 30 minutes or so.

I too can't wait. I think the biggest reason I love ST is the games are played outside like the game was meant to be played. I wish the Rays would demolish that shat hole Tropicana and build a retractable. My secret during ST is I go to more Yankee games then I do D-Rays.

I can't blame you, as the D-Rays treat the whole year like spring training, so why waste your time. ;)

Great point Pimpbot but, those damn regular season games are great. When we go we have the whole stadium to ourselves.

I would like to take a couple of weeks off in February/March and head down to Florida or Arizona in the next couple of years, maybe one one year and the other the next? Spring training is a great time to get autographs, as even the "stars" are approachable, if the situation presents itself.
Those of you who do attend games, please post reports for the rest of us, OK?

The first year out here, I was amazed out the access and how close I could get to the players during practice. And the ballparks allow you to be right next to the field and players for a fraction of the big league parks cost.

You got it catman. As far as getting the autographs the players are very cooperative during spring training. Not just at the ballpark either. If you know how to approach an athlete in public the chances of you getting his or her autograph is that much better. I got Jeter's autograph in Dillards at a mall here in Tampa. King George's at a local pizza joint. As long as you don't draw attention to them, they will normally comply with your autograph request.

Sure will. I've gotten a lot of autographs and pictures with players over the past ten years. Will see how they are this year......

This is true, Mush. I am trying to be a Rays fan, and have gone to many games since the team's inception. Each experience has been very positive (except for the final score)! I hope with the new management in place they will try to put a more competitive team on the field, but they sure have been quiet during the off-season with their personnel moves.

At least you guys a have a MLB team!!!! :( Sheesh - I'd KILL to not have to fly 5,000 miles to see my favorite team :D But yeah, I don't care what team it is, nothing beats a MLB game. Some of my favorite games at Fenway are in April, night games the temp can be 30-40's. You can double fist Sam Adams and put the extra ones under your seat so they stay cold after the 7th when they stop selling beer!!!!! Great time!

I did get the opportunity to attend a Red Sox game at Fenway several years ago on a trip to Boston. Great park, loved the atmosphere, and to see the 'Green Monster" in person was priceless!

When I get older, I'd love to just take a vacation down to Spring Training like alot of people do, in the middle of February there is nothing else really to do, and February always seems to be the coldest month here.
