If you've ever watched ESPN on Sunday mornings, you know they have specials on various deep issues in sports. I remember one was about the influx of players leaving college early or skipping it altogether. My question to you all is how do we keep them in college?

1. Do we make it a requirement to attend?

2. Do we pay the student athletes so they can live better and perhaps be more content?

For the second question, I think this is a pressing problem that, if solved, would alleviate a lot of the young players leaving too early.

Theres really not much you can do about it. But in order to get a good job, you need college education, it should be the same about sports. I don't think they will be able to enfore that though.

In order for the college game to remain at it's level some changes are going to have to be made.

When a player accepts a scholarship to attend college he is making a legal obligation.
In return for his basketball skill he gets an education.
Players leaving early IMO are breaking a contract.
They should be held to that contract not rewarded.
They are teaching the players to break those contracts by enticing them with $$$$$'s.
So lets pay those players a token amount.

No one should be allowed to play in the NBA until they have graduated from college or that their class has graduated from college.

Education is paramount in these days to get a good job.The student/player will need the education down the road.Very few finish what they start once they leave the college ranks. So it is very important that they finish what they have started.

There is no perfect way ...but this could be one..

I don't believe the colleges could ever pay enough to compete with the NBA's lucrative contracts.

True, but the colleges realistically would be paying just so the players can be comfortable - everyone knows there's no way they can pay millions of dollars.
