Anybody else's Internet Explorer crash every five minutes using the board? Mine does, in fact, as I'm typing this I've moved the illegal operation warning to the corner and ignoring it. Just wondering if its me or if its a problem of the board.

What version of Internet Explorer are you using?
I used to use Netscape because I didn't know any better. But it's brutal compared to Internet Explorer. I'm using Internet Explorer 5.00 and I haven't had any problems with this board. Maybe you should just upgrade the version you have now.

Nope -- no problems with IE 5.0 (actually, 5.00.2014.0216CO ;) )

I have IE 5 and not having any problems.
However, I might have had a problem like this before... not sure. I forget now anyway.
No problems here. Might try reinstalling IE.
Actually, I am experiencing the same problem as Brandon. For some reason, I have a sneaking suspicion it's the ads at the top. I will look into it.

I'm using IE 5.00 right now.
Yeah, Marc, I think you're on to something. It just did it again, and the banner ad won't show up on the top.

Lee, I'll see if I can give you the quick version since I already typed all this and was forced to quit. :redhot:
I surf around, and everything is fine. I come to the boards here and start to post and I get a prompt that forces me to close the application saying it has performed "illegal operations." Then I notice that the ads don't appear up above when this happens. So I also believe that it is the ads.
So I just move the little prompt to the bottom and ignore it until it makes the browser stop working at all. Like it did when I was typing this message for the first time.
All right, this is what I decided to do. I removed the banners temporarily to see if this causes the errors to go away. Without the ads, I have yet to experience that error. When I had the ads on, I got the error every other page view, it seemed. Talk about annoying.
I even looked through all of the ads we're running with BURST! and Fastclick - couldn't find a Network Solutions ad, which seems like the culprit. Strange.

The site does look better without the ads. ;)

Haven't had a problem since you removed that ads Marc.
Now, what's the next step?

Good question. :) I guess it's figuring out if you get the same errors on the actual site (not boards), since the same ads are on there. Can you browse and tell me if you get the errors there? I don't.

No problem. I'll do it a couple times and give you the results.
I put the ads back this morning - to my surprise, I am no longer receiving IE errors. Are you, Brandon?

I was away from the boards for a day, just came back today. But I haven't experienced any problems. Maybe somehow the code was screwed up earlier?

Perhaps it was just a mess-up in the BURST! banner code, but all that matters is that it works now.

Not a big deal but I have Internet Explorer 5.50 and it doesn't happen a lot but it has happened at least a few times lately to me. But sometimes when I open up Internet Explorer and go directly to this site IE gives me an error message and shuts down so I have to reopen Internet Explorer again.
Anybody else have this problem before? And Marc, any idea what could be causing that?
I'm not sure, really. IE 6 was recently released in Gold version. Download it for free at www.download.com and see if it fixes any problems.

Is that what you're using now, Marc? The 6.0 version?
Because I guess I do that but it takes like an hour and half to download those big browser programs on my computer and it slows everything else down that I'm doing while I do it so I'd rather not go through the hassle but I can do if I have to.
IE 6 has some improved privacy protection and a few new features. I'd say get it if you're having problems, otherwise, it's not a must-have-right away upgrade.
