"Little Big League"
...the latest one I've seen is "The Replacements"... it was pretty good...
"Running Brave"
It showed the life of Billy Mills who pulled off one of the greatest
upsets in Olympic 10k history... Tokyo Olympics
and then also "Field of Dreams" was good

My all-time favorite sports movie was "The Natural" with Robert Redford. I just loved the theme music to that movie, like when they played it when Robert Redford hit the game winning homer and broke the lights on top of the stadium.

re-thinking......................
...anyone ever see, "The Fan"?... I think that's what it's called. I forget, though, if it's a baseball or footblal movie... I think it's a football movie.... about a CRAZY fan who's, like, obsessed with this player and kills him or something... or something?... I forget what happens...
...OK now I look like a fool :) ....can anyone help me out here?
I liked "The Hurricane" with Denzel Washington.

The Fan , that movie was crazy... and it was a baseball one... but "the fan"(DeNiro?) didn't kill the player(Snipes) he was obsessed with, but the player who had #11, which was Snipes character's favorite number... and the only number he wanted to play with....

"I'm going with the Avs to win it all. Roy will excel to excellence for the fourth time. Bourque will finally (win the) Stanley Cup. The team has all the right elements to repeat the magic of '96."

He gets something right and all of the sudden he quotes himself for once. :D

Another one of my favorite movies was "Hoosiers" with Gene Hackman and Dennis Hopper. That was a great basketball movie.
I used to love Dennis Hopper when he did those "Psycho Football Ref" commercials for NIKE. You know like when he's all smelling a football player's sneakers and then he says something like, "He's a bad man! He's a very bad man!".

Yeah yeah... I know.
Remember the Titans is excellent, as well as Raging Bull and Slap Shot.

By far my favorite sports movie would be Caddyshack. Even though i hate golf and dont really think it should be considered a sport...no effence to any of you who like golf. But even though it was based around golf you still got the comedy to get rid of that point.:goof:

I am from Cleveland so I am obligated to say Major League.

I forgot about Major Leauge. Major League 1 and 2 were both really funny.
Another favorite on the list is Field of Dreams. The book, "Shoeless Joe," is just as good, if not better than the movie.
But my favorite sports movie right now is, "For Love of the Game." Its with Kelly Preston (I think that's her name) and Kevin Costner. Baseball movie obviously where a Tigers pitcher about to retire goes back through his life while on the mound in Yankee Stadium.
Plus you gotta love it when the Yankees lose, especially the way they lose in this movie. :D
Oh yeah, how about 61*? That was an excellent movie too.

The 2 Major League movies are great.
Speaking of Deniro I don't watch his movies since that monstrosity that was Cape Fear.
I am big time into horror/thriller but Cape Fear is pure garbage....sorry a bit off topic there.

Yeah, Billy Crystal and the two guys that played Mantle and Maris really did their homework about the situation. I was impressed.

That's unbelievable. Want a horror movie? Go see Shaq and his award-winning acting in Kazaam.

I've seen Kazaam ... the only thing I liked about it were all those candy bars falling from the sky ... at that point I wished it was me. Other than that, the movie SUCKED!
Nick Nolte, Shaq, Penny Hardaway, Larry Bird, and a bunch of other people make up this movie ....
