Italy saves us from more lame ass PKs with 2 goals after like minute 119. Absolutely crazy. Stunned Germans all about.

I picked the Germans to win it all at the quarters stage. but truth be told, I think out of the 4 semi final teams, an Italian win would be the most bearable for me.
How long before Klinsman signs on with the US?

Got a chuckle out of this one....
Police arrest suspected concrete ball makers
BERLIN (AP) - Police believe they have solved the mystery of Berlin's concrete soccer balls.
Two young men suffered slight foot injuries in recent days after kicking concrete-filled balls chained to lamp posts and trees in the capital.
The words "Can u kick it" were sprayed in pink paint close to each of the balls, at least six of which were left in the streets.
Police said they arrested on Wednesday two men, ages 26 and 29, who apparently had set up a workshop to produce the offending balls.
Officers found three new concrete-filled balls, spray cans and chains.
The suspects were being questioned by investigators and could face charges of bodily harm. There was no immediate comment on their possible motive.

France into final simply because of Ref! Was not a foul... I watched it ten times... Thierry Henry was not fouled but Ref picked France to win over Portugal and allowed Zinedine Zidane's first-half penalty kick to settle score 1:0 and give France win! :(
Since when do we let Refs determine World Cup winners? This is not the first blown game in Cup... Refs have figured prominately in more than five games... and been a major factor in score... Why?

When I first watched the foul, I thought Henry dived. However, I still think Henry dived and made a meal of it, but the Portuguese defended stuck his foot out to impede Henry. Stupid thing to do inside your own box right in front of the ref. It was a penalty, but a cheap one. Henry imo hasn't covered himself in glory this last month.
Italy v France in the final. You had to believe, heading into the semis, this had to be the matchup.
That Italian finish was the craziness. Loved it. As mentioned earlier, thank heaven that it didn't go to PKs (where Italy surely would've lost after outplaying the Germans all game long).
As much as I am learning to like the sport, the 0-0 scores after 80 or 90 minutes of play is disappointing. It seems all too common now.

When you're playing for high stakes, they tend to get that way.

For the record, I think Henry over-acted but it was a foul
Just like baseball, I love 0-0 only IF it's a well-played game
