I am talking about the noises they have added when the down marker disappears from the screen. ARGH!

I thought maybe you were talking about Joe Buck and the garbage that spews from his mouth

Hmm, you mean the sound effects for the graphics and whatnot? I guess it's their way of making it seem high-tech and modern. And they're not the only ones. Doesn't bother me ... the frequence of commercials does. Games have no flow when there are commercials every two minutes. It's ridiculous. I'd rather there be less frequent, longer blocks than one or two commercials literally have few minutes.

Speaking of announcers and networks, NBC has done a great job. Love the studio team and ex-MNF crew with Al and John. Costas is really good and I'm glad to see Sterling Sharpe back on air. As for Bettis, he's still growing on me. Their graphics are also the best out there. CBS has substantially improved theirs, as well.

Let me tell you ... you haven't lived until you've had every game simultaneously on your screen like the Sunday Ticket Mix. Feels like a command center in the Pentagon for sports nuts. Was worth the 8:30 AM wake-up call for DirecTV installation on a Sunday morning.

How about that dancing robot they've got on FOX?

Damn, when I saw the thread title I was hoping it was about Joe Buck.

I think NBC did a great job with the studio and crew.

Me too. I hate that they let JB slip away to CBS, and I DON'T like the on-site pre-game show a-la ESPN College Gameday.

I am more a fan of the AFC than the NFC, and more of a fan of CBS' NFL coverage than FOX's, so I am glad J.B. has moved to CBS.

Especially since that means I have to listen to less of Greg Gumbel!

I really hate unnecessary noises.

I have a request for FOX: Please make sure your announcers know which state they are in. I kid you not this comment came from one of the announcers doing the Carolina game after Thomas Davis was flagged for roughing the QB:

"I bet that is the first time Thomas Davis has ever been booed in the state of Georgia."

Now, granted, the Panthers were playing the Falcons on Sunday and Davis did play his college ball for Georgia, however, the game was played in Charlotte yesterday and the last time I checked Charlotte was in North Carolina and not Georgia.

I swear the quality of announcers FOX gets for the lower tier games gets worse and worse every year.

But notice that FOX was streaming in the scores of the other games on a continuous basis (last year only CBS was doing this).

Its just like watching Madden 2007... which is what the TV guys think we want. I don't.... I want to watch the game without all the stats and onscreen junk blocking the actual game!!!

Yeah, I noticed that as well, but they were very anti-fantasy in the fact that they never did the ticker at the bottom with score updates that would usually tell you who had scored the last TD and who was having a good game. I like the running scores in the upper right but for the life of me cannot figure out why they ditched the fantasy updates they used to have last year.

So far as not knowing what state they were in, doublee: Obviously the fact that the Panthers were wearing their white jerseys at home is what threw him off; and notice how the Chiefs also wore white at home last Sunday? That was the first time they had done so in 27 years - and after what happened to Trent Green, it just might be another 27 years before they do it again!

I guess I'm the only person in the world who likes Joe Buck. I guess I was in the minority with Trev Alberts to.

I agree doublee. Some horrid announcing for the game Sunday. Never heard of either one of those guys before. Maybe you'll get stuck w/em calling Panthers games. I usually end up w/Baldinger calling Foulcon games, so not much better.

As far as noises and all that crap, how about getting rid of the graphics altogether? When it was just the scorebox in the corner of the screen, it was fine. But now there are 10 different things going on the screen at the same time. The arrow that takes up half the screen that says 1st an 10, etc. (they place it on the field of play) is really annoying, imo.
