After watching the Saints and their receivers over the past two games I see a lot of potential in them, especially WR Marques Colston seventh round pick out of Hofstra.

What a move(with his shoulder) he made yesterday on the CB covering him in the end zone when he made his TD. This kid has talent.

Colston is a big kid too at 6-4 231 pounds. He has two TD passes for the year. His size gives him such an advantage over the smaller cornerbacks.

I also like what I see in Devery Henderson out of LSU. Henderson had a lot of problems in 2005 like dropped passes, but it looks like he has worked through some of his problems or faults.

And Joe Horn is Joe Horn. He wasn't much of a factor in last week's win, nor very impressive yesterday, but you know this guy can make the big plays.

TE Mark Campbell who is 6-6 caught a pass yesterday. I believe the Saints need to use their tight ends a bit more as for receiving. Just another weapon to utilize. Ernie Conwell did not play yesterday as far as i know. Is he injured?

Also another receiving weapon coming out of the backfield is Reggie Bush. He already has 15 receptions on the year. I believe he will start to do some serious damage soon by catching screens out of the backfield. If this guy can work himself free after a catch katie bar the door.

So I'm very excited about what the Saints can do on offense with their receiving corp. Anyone else feel the same?

Colston is a beast. Huge target who got overshadowed coming from a smaller school. I picked him up on my fantasy team. N.O. has some very nice pieces in place at their skill positions. I enjoyed seeing former Packer Mike McKenzie get burned several times, but unfortunately in the end, he had the last laugh. :(

Why did Henderson and Colston look good, while Joe Horn disappeared? Defense. Ahmad Carroll got burned badly, and the safety Nick Collins got lost covering Colston. Horn had Al Harris blanketing him most of the game. If they play a more even defensive backfield next week, you might see the stats reverse for the NO WRs.

By the way, besides giving up a TD, Ahmad also had the pass interference that led directly to the Colston TD. He personally gave up 6 pts and contributed heavily to 6 others as a nickel back. Why is he on the team??????

So maybe the Saints knew what they were doing when they traded Donte' Stallworth after all - but that draft pick they got for him is going to have to be a pretty special player for them to have gotten adequate value in the deal.

No matter who plays for the Saints they need all the help they can get-even from the other team's defense.

I wanna see what they do against a credible defense before annointing these guys as being anything special. Come on it is not as if the Packers or the Browns have been able to stop anyone from throwing on them as of yet. Until they play anyone of consequence the Saints are merely a paper tiger right now.

Well Marques Colston certainly won't be playing anyone of consequence on October 15th: The Saints are at home against the Eagles on that day, and at 6-foot-4, Colston could rack up Flipper Anderson-type numbers. :(
