1.Indianapolis Colts-(2-0)-The Colts put a hurting on the Houston Texans by beating them 43-24 in Indianapolis. QB Peyton Manning threw for 400 yards. Surpassing Hall of Fame legend and former Colt QB Johnny Unitas in passing yards as a Colt. Manning completed 26 of 38 passes and threw three TD's. Both WR's Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison had a big game. Wayne caught six passes for 135 yards and Harrison caught seven passes for 127 yards. Rookie RB Joseph Addai out of LSU ran for 82 yards on 16 carries. LB Gary Brackett led the defense with 10 tackles. Field goal kicker Adam Vinitiera kicked three successful field goals for his new team. Next game Sept. 24th against Jacksonville at Indy. That will be a great game.
2.Cincinnati Bengals-(2-0)-Cincinnati beat Cleveland 34-17 in Cincinnati. The bad news was the Bengals lost three starters to injuries. Carson Palmer completed 24 of 40 passes for 352 yards and two TD's. RB Rudi Johnson came up big by rushing for 145 yards on 26 carries and he scored two TD's. RB Travis Henry who was recently brought up on gun charges caught five passes for 113 yards. WR Chad Johnson was held to six receptions. WR Kelley Washington who played his college ball for Tennessee scored the first TD of the game for Cincy when Palmer threw a 22 yard strike to him in the first quarter. Next game Sept. 24th against Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh.
3.Jacksonville Jaguars-(2-0)- The Jaguars continue their winning ways by blanking Pittsburgh on Monday Night Football, 9-0 in Jacksonville. It was Jacksonville's first shutout since December 2003 against Houston. The contest last night was the lowest scoring game in MNF history. FG kicker Josh Scobee kicked three field goals to win the game for his team. The Jags are now 4-0 against Pittsburgh in the month of September. And 3-0 on MNF. QB Byron Leftwich completed 26 of 39 passes for 260 yards. He threw one INT. RB Fred Taylor rushed for 92 yards on 22 carries. His longest run from scrimmage was 25 yards on the night. WR Reggie Williams caught eight passes for 95 yards. CB Rashean Mathis had two picks for the evening. Next game Sept. 24th against Indianapolis at Indy.
4.San Diego Chargers-(2-0)-The Chargers crushed Tennessee 40-7 in San Diego. QB Philip Rivers threw for 235 yards while completing 25 of 35 passes and one passing TD. His great performance helps the fans breathe easier for letting Drew Brees go. It wasn't LaDanian Tomlinson that rushed for the big yards Sunday, but RB Michael Turner who rushed for 138 yards on 13 carries. He rushed for 73 yards on one carry. Averaging over 10 yards per carry on the day. Turner in his third year played his college ball for Northern Illinois. Tomlinson rushed for 71 yards while scoring two TD's. LB Donnie Edwards led the defense with six tackles. I sure miss Junior Seau. Kicker Nate Kaeding kicked four field goals on the day. His longest was a 44 yarder in the third quarter. The Chargers enjoy a bye this coming week. Next game October 1st against Baltimore in Baltimore. That will be a good test for the team.
5.New England Patriots-(2-0)-The Pats beat the New York Jets, 24-17 in NY. New England leading 24-0 in the third quarter held off a Jets rally in the second half to win. QB Tom Brady completed 15 of 29 passes for 220 yards and one TD. He tossed one INT. RB Corey Dillon rushed for 80 yards on 20 carries and one TD. Rookie RB Lawrence Maroney rushed for 65 yards and one TD. On defense DT Ty Warren led with 11 tackles. LB Teddy Bruschi had one INT. Next game Sept. 24th against Denver at New England.
6.Chicago Bears-(2-0)-The Bears beat the Detroit Lions, 34-7 in Chicago. QB Rex Grossman looked good again this week. Completing 20 of 27 for 289 yards and four TD's. A career high for him. TE John Gilmore(6-5-257) caught two passes for two TD's. WR Bernard Berrian caught a 41 yard pass from Grossman for a TD in the second quarter. RB Cedric Benson only gained 25 yards on 10 carries. LB Brian Urlacher led the team with seven tackles along with LB Lance Briggs. DT Tommie Harris had two sacks on the day while the rest of the defense had four more. Next game Sept. 24th against Minnesota at Minnesota.
7.Seattle Seahawks-(2-0)-The Seahawks defeated the Arizona Cardinals, 24-10 at Seattle. Some say it was a sloppy win. Seattle receivers dropped five passes and Arizona got into Seattle territory seven times. Also QB Matt Hasselbeck threw two INT's. Hasselbeck completed 12 of 27 passes for 221 yards and one TD. RB Shaun Alexander rushed for 89 yards on 26 carries and scored one TD. WR Darrell Jackson caught five passes for 127 yards and one 49 yard TD in the first quarter. Seattle's defense blitzed all day harrassing Arizona QB Kurt Warner. LB Lofa Tatufu had 12 tackles on the day and now has 17 for the young season. Tatufu played his college ball at Southern California. Next game Sept. 24th against the New York Giants at Seattle.
8.Pittsburgh Steelers-(1-1)-The Steelers lost to Jacksonville, 9-0 in Jacksonville. You could tell QB Ben Roethlisberger was still in pain from his recent surgery. He threw two INT's on the night. RB Willie Parker rushed for only 20 yards on 11 carries. Pittsburgh had only nine first downs for the night. It was a great defensive game. LB James Farrior had ten tackles for the game. LB Clark Haggans had one INT. Next game Sept. 24th against Cincinnati at Pittsburgh.
9.New York Giants-(1-1)-The Giants came back from a 17 point deficit to beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 30-24 in OT at Philadelphia. QB Eli Manning completed 31 of 43 for 371 yards and three TD's. Manning was sacked eight times though. WR Amani Toomer caught 12 passes for 137 yards and two TD's. WR Plaxico Burress caught six passes for 114 yards and one TD. Catching a 31 yard TD to win the game in OT. Giants LB Carlos Emmons had 11 tackles on the day. Next game Sept. 24th against the Seattle Seahawks at Seattle.

RB Warrick Dunn rushed for 137 yards on 21 carries. The Falcons had a total of 306 yards rushing on the day. A franchise record. LB Keith Brooking had nine tackles on the day. Kicker Michael Koenen missed four field goals. That has to hurt. Next game Sept. 25th against New Orleans on MNF at New Orleans.
