.Indianapolis Colts-(3-0)-The Colts beat a good Jacksonville Jaguar team 21-14 in Indy. The Jags ran all over the Colts, especially in the first half of the game. QB Peyton Manning threw for 219 yards and one TD. He completed 14 of 31 passes. It wasn't one of the best games of his career. Manning also rushed for a TD. His first rushing TD since 2002. WR Marvin Harrison caught six passes for 94 yards. He leads the NFL with 22 total receptions. Harrison needs three more receptions to pass Andre Reed for 5th on the all-time reception list. Punt returner Terrance Wilkins returned a punt for a 82 yard TD in the second quarter of play. On defense for the Colts rookie safety Antoine Bethea out of Howard led the team with 12 tackles. Next game Oct 1st against the NY Jets in NY.

.Cincinnati Bengals-(3-0)-The Bengals defeated Pittsburgh, 28-20 in Pittsburgh. QB Carson Palmer completed 18 of 26 passes for 193 yards and four TD's. On the downside, Palmer fumbled three times, got intercepted twice and was sacked six times. But Sunday's win over the Steelers made Palmer feel a bit better after last year's loss in the postseason. WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught nine passes for 94 yards and two TD's. WR Chris Henry also caught two TD passes. The Bengals on defense had three interceptions on the day and three sacks. DE Robert Geathers had two of those sacks. Cincinnati's kickoff returner Kenny Watson returned five kicks for 105 yards on the day. Next game Oct. 1st against New England in Cincinnati.

.Chicago Bears-(3-0)-The Bears overcame a stingy Minnesota defense and beat them 19-16, in Minnesota. QB Rex Grossman had another good game this week. Grossman threw for 278 yards while completing 23 of 41 passes for one TD. He had two passes picked off. Grossman ranks fifth in the NFL with a QB rating of 100.9. WR Mushin Muhammad caught nine passes for 118 yards, but no TD's on the day. The Bears FGK Robbie Gould kicked four field goals on the day to lead the offense. He kicked a 49 yarder in the fourth quarter. Chicago WR Rashied Davis out of San Jose St caught a 24 yard TD right after the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter to give the Bears the win. LB Brian Urlacher led the Bears defense with 10 tackles. Next game Oct. 1st against the Seattle Seahawks in Chicago.

.San Diego Chargers-(2-0)-The Chargers enjoyed a bye this past week. Next game Oct. 1st against the Baltimore Colts in Baltimore. Can the Chargers offense overcome the stingy Ravens defense? good question.

.Seattle Seahawks-(3-0)-The Seahawks beat the NY Giants 42-30 at home in Seattle, but at a very costly price. Star RB Shaun Alexander broke a bone in his left foot during the game. Alexander did score one TD on the day, while rushing for 47 yards on the day. He is out indefintely. QB Matt Hasselbeck completed 24 of 33 for 227 yards and five TD passes. Four of those were in the first half. WR Darrell Jackson caught seven passes for 57 yards and scored two TD's. Former Patriots WR Deion Branch caught two passes for 23 yards and ran a reverse for eight yards. Kickoff returner and WR Willie Ponder returned four kicks for 104 yards on the day. Seattle's defense intercepted three passes on the day. Safety Ken Hamlin had two of those picks. A record crowd of 68,161 watched their team win Sunday. On Oct. 1st Seattle plays against Chicago in Chicago.

.Baltimore Ravens-(3-0)-The Ravens beat Cleveland, 15-14 in Cleveland. QB Steve McNair completed 23 of 41 passes for 264 yards and one TD. WR Derrick Mason caught seven passes for 132 yards. RB Jamal Lewis rushed for 86 yards on 21 carries. FGK Matt Stover kicked a 52 yard field goal to win the game in the fourth quarter. He had three successful field goals on the day. The Ravens tough defense had seven sacks on the day. LB Bart Scott had two of those sacks. He also led the team with eight tackles. The Ravens defense ranks second in the NFL, allowing just 197.3 yards per game. Next game Oct. 1st against San Diego at home in Baltimore.

.Denver Broncos-(2-1)-The Broncos beat the New England Patriots, 17-7 in New England. The offense ran up 400 yards. That's difficult to do against the Pat's. QB Jake Plummer completed 15 of 30 passes for 256 yards and two TD's. RB Tatum Bell rushed for 123 yards on 27 carries. They always find great running backs year after year. WR Javon Walker caught three passes for 130 yards and two TD's. LB Ian Gold led the defense with 13 tackles. They shut down the Patriots running game. Allowing the Pat's only 50 yards on the ground. Denver enjoys a bye this coming week. Next game Oct. 8th against the Baltimore Ravens in Denver.

.Philadelphia Eagles-(2-1)-The Eagles defeated San Francisco, 38-24 in SF. QB Donovan McNabb completed 18 of 33 passes for 296 yards and two TD's. McNabb leads all QB's in passing yards with 960 yards. RB Brian Westbrook rushed for 117 yards on eight carries. He scored two TD's. Also caught a pass for a TD. His longest run from scrimmage was 71 yard TD in the second quarter. WR Reggie Brown caught five passes for 106 yards. Philadelphia leads the NFL in offense, averaging 436.0 yards per game. Next game Oct. 2nd against the Green Bay Packers on MNF in Philadelphia.

.Jacksonville Jaguars-(2-1)-The Jags lost to the Indianapolis Colts, 20-14 in Indianapolis. QB Byron Leftwich did not have his best passing day as he completed 16 of 28 for 107 yards and one TD. The Jags did present a very strong running game against the Colts. Rookie RB Maurice Jones-Drew out of UCLA rushed for 103 yards on 13 carries. Drew also returned four kickoffs for 109 yards on four attempts. RB Fred Taylor rushed for 74 yards on 21 carries. Jacksonville racked up 20 first downs compared to 14 for the Colts. LB Mike Peterson led the defense with eight tackles. The Jags defense ranks third in the AFC, allowing 190.3 yards per game. Next game Oct. 1st against the Washington Redskins in Washington.

.New Orleans Saints-(3-0)-The surprising New Orleans Saints defeated the Atlanta Falcons, 23-3 in New Orleans. That's what I call a homecoming. Wow! The city of New Orleans is alive and well on planet earth. The Saints struck paydirt first in the first quarter on a blocked punt which Curtis Deloatch recovered in the end zone. QB Drew Brees completed 20 of 28 passes for 191 yards. Rookie WR Marques colston caught seven passes for 97 yards. Not bad for a seventh rounder. RB Deuce McAllister rushed for 81 yards on 19 carries. Rookie sensation Reggie Bush contributed also. Rushing for 53 yards and catching four passes for 19 yards. He still has a lot of learn. New Orleans racked up 326 yards on offense. The Saints defense really impressed me. They were all over the Falcon receivers. They acted like they knew in advance where Falcons QB Michael Vick was going to throw the ball each time. They also sacked Vick five times. LB Scott Fujita led the Saints defense with eight tackles. Next game Oct. 1st against Carolina in Carolina.

I changed my rankings this morning-I did not mean to drop Jacksonville out of the top 10.
