General Sports Board?

What do you think? Issues about sports in general or sports-related topics that don't fit anywhere else would fit here. Is there a big need for this? Opinions are appreciated. Please vote in the poll.

I always thought the "Other Sports Blitz" board took care of that.

No, no, no. There's a difference between discussing sports not listed here such as soccer and boxing in the Other Sports Blitz board and discussing general issues in sports.

For example, where do you post a thread about controlling out-of-control player salaries? Not in the Other Sports Blitz board, because it's not an other sport, it's a general issue in sports. What if you want to compare leagues? Same story.

The Other Sports Blitz board is for discussing sports that do not have their own boards here, NOT for discussing general issues in sports.

...i don't think it'd fly.... Marc, you've said before you don't want to have forums just THERE with no activity... like the Auto Racing board.... I don't see much activity in this proposed "new board," and maybe the "Other Sports Blitz" could have its name changed to accomodate this next idea.

I say No, because I have always thought of the Other Sports forum for things like this, I guess thats a wrong though, but I think the other sports forum can serve this purpose.

And Marc and Lee, didn't you guys have that big debate about Jordan vs. Gretsky on that board? That's another reason I always thought it was assumed that "cross big-time sports" topics like that was for the "Other Sports Blitz".

I'm with Lee though when he says that I think you can just change the title of that board.

Okay, I'm not going to force anything if the majority doesn't want it. I'm going to slightly modify the Other Sports Blitz board's description so that board can correctly handle general sports issues and discussion about other sports. Thanks for your thoughts.
