From now on the West Virginia Mountaniers, or Cavaliers, or Muskateers, or whatever they're called will be known as the proverbial backyard football cherrypickers because that's all they do: they stand in the back, let everyone else do the dirty work, and intercept any mistakes, making themselves look like great players....cherrypickers. They beat down every cheesecake baking, table setting, apron wearing university in college football and when a better team makes a mistake they jump in claiming greatness and glory....news flash *we're smarter than that* when are the polls going to catch up.
Example #1) Auburn: beat SC, Florida, and LSU all three of which have a higher ranking than anyone WV has beaten. They make a mistake (Arkansas) and bam the cherrypicker is there flashing his wristwatch.
#2) Tennessee: beat Cal, Bama, Georgia same situation. They make a mistake (Florida *by 1 point) and bam there he is again with trimmed eye brows, gel in his hair and blush on his cheeks looking spotless.
I could go on but what's the point unless everyone involved in these polls reads this and has an enlightenment.
The West Virginia Cherrypickers coach (whom i do NOT know the name of because it does NOT matter, he should NOT be in the national spotlight anyway) basically said in a news conference (parahrased), "I hope the pollers look at what we did last year against Georgia in the bowl game." Uhmmmm NOOO....College football is about this year, no one gets a shot at a national championship because of what they did last year.
Example: Auburn got A$$ raped for the national championship a few years ago and they didn't get any special consideration the following year.
West Virginia, go blow yourself because you don't deserve a woman you bunch of guttless, peterless cherrypickers. Any West Virginia fan out there go ahead and give it your best shot and I'll tear you apart......

ranked 10th before last nights loss to Virginia Tech. one dimensional because of an innexperienced quarterback who i think was castrated at birth. will proctor cannot throw the ball downfield and whilts under pressure. coach bowden is in the same club (castrated), he shows no confidence in his quarterback and play calling, whilts under pressure. punted with 5:33 left in the fourth down by 17 points.
what makes a good football coach and a good quarterback is not being affraid to lose. not even knowing the idea of losing as an option. USC pushing thier luck against ND last year, knowing time would run out if they were stopped. carson palmer and the bengals going deep on 4th and 1 last week against the panthers. clemson could've taken a chance against VT last night but they never did. on every first down situation and short yardage situation they ran the ball. VT would stack the line and bring 8 or 9 into the box. you've got to have balls to win tough games....clemson belongs in the 20-30 range.

They've got two ranked teams left to play. And I wouldn't call anyone in the Big East a "cherry-picker"--it's not their fault Miami and Va Tech jumped ship.

Well, for one, it is not as though Miami or Va Tech are anything special this year. Neither team is ranked nor does either one of them scare anyone with their offenses.
But, would it kill WVU to schedule someone semi-competitive on their out-of-conference schedule? I'll give them a bit of a pass on Maryland and Marshall just because they are local opponents of interest but Eastern Washington, East Carolina, and Mississippi State? None of those schools have been terribly competitive for years.
West Virginia has signed on for home-and-homes with Auburn and Florida State (I think it was the 'Noles) in the next couple of years. Maybe that will put to rest the issue of their less than stellar OOC scheduling.

Isn't Marland 6-2? That ain't that bad. They lost at WVU and at G Tech (by 4). I think the governor of WV kinda wanted to see Marshall and WVU play. I recall hearing that somewhere. Anyway, I don't see anything wrong with playing Marshall, Maryland, a I-AA, and Auburn/FSU.

I really don't think any major 1A school should be playing a 1AA opponent.

Yeah, they are but when you look at who they have beaten you would think yeah they should be 6-2. Their only road win is by 2 over UVA and their best overall victory is against a 4-4 FSU team that is fading fast. I would not be surprised to see them end the year at 7-5.
But, come on if a home win against Maryland is your best OCC win that ain't saying much for your schedule.
Like I said I give them a pass for Maryland and Marshall because they are regional games of interest. It is the rest of the OCC schedule that they really cannot make any excuses for. Those programs have been bad to mediocre for several years now.

I absolutely agree. This should never happen. Man, after last night, WVU: exposed.

To be honest I was not overly impressed with Louisville either. Sure they ran up a bunch of points but the defense was nothing to get excited about. WVU pretty much did what it wanted on offense it just kept shooting themselves in the foot with fumbles and stupid penalties.
