View Full Version : What's the point of taking me back to my thread?

just curious, what is the point of taking the viewer to his/her post right after they submit a new thread or a reply? It just means I have to scroll to the top and click to go back to the page I want to go to. I don't need to read my post, I just wrote it and I know what it says. :)
Well, most people like the assurance that it worked and showed up. Some like to proofread quickly. :)
Really, this is a standard feature in vBulletin, the industry leader in forums/message boards software. I think you're the only one who has a problem with this... and I'm not even sure how difficult it would be to change it and make it go back to the main board.

Like Lee said, I don't like that in between page. It's kinda annoying, but ohter than that, no biggie.
The transfer page is harmless and as far as I know, cannot be removed. Nothing is automatic. You guys are getting a little spoiled - compare the features, speed, and stability of this software to others and you'll see my point. :)

I know, I know. It's harmless. It's just kinda annoying seeing that page there and waiting on my slooooooow modem to see my post.

I was just joking. :P What I meant didn't come across correctly. I'm saying that you won't find a better system for message boards posting than vBulletin - not referring specifically to the SCMB, but what it runs on. Sorry for the confusion.

Yeah I like that idea, that you're actually taken back to the thread that you just posted to. It assures me that the post I just worked on actually got posted.
I've had the experience on other message boards before where I worked on a long post and I thought I posted it but when I checked on it a few hours later, I found out it never got posted.

I thought I got the "in between" page... and I thought I actually saw the page my post was on... but it wasn't there a few hours later....... (plays X-Files theme song)

I don't know, that's never happened to me before. Of course, you've had more chances with your 2000+ posts Lee.

I like our board right now, as is. It's good to see that your post made it through.
