The Sun Belt is the biggest joke in 1-A football, right there with Duke. And the talk of the Gateway being a tougher conference is a big slap in the face for the SBC. Unfortunately for them, it's probably true.

I don't know...

Kentucky can barely sustain one 1-A team in my Wildcats, do we really need two? Let's not get ahead of ourselves... :P

Sagarin currently has 3 I-AA conferences ahead of the Sun Belt (Gateway is in there). Last year the Gateway was ahead of them too. I enjoy it considering how the SEC constantly plays those teams under the guise that they are the equivalent of the MAC...which the Big Ten uses to get their blood going each year. The MAC is way ahead of the Sun Belt.

Auburn vs. Arkansas State this Saturday. Way to go Tuberville!

The only Sun Belt team that shouldn't be 1-A is probably Troy. They're an up and coming program that beat Missouri a couple years ago and gave Florida State all they could handle earlier this season. The rest of them could be downgraded to 1-AA and few would care.

Unfortunately, Penn State opens with Florida International next year. I guess Southern Ohio School for the Blind wasn't available. Auburn must be playing them.

My guess is that teams like New Hampshire, Appalachian State, Montana, and Georgia Southern would probably all be better 1A teams than WKU.
