Michael Jackson plans "comeback."

Will you support him? Can he comeback? I say no to both questions. I guess he still has support in Europe but I doubt he ever releases an album of great commercial success in this country ever again.

His last album, although a flop by his standards, went multi-platinum. There are hundreds of millions of Jackson fans worldwide. You can't never count out an icon like him.

I don't know that he will ever enjoy the type of success he has had in the U. S. again but like you guys said he is still huge in Europe and even Asia as well.

I guess it all depends on what everyone considers "commercial success." Like Ken was alluding to, Michael Jackson's last solo release "Invincible" sold over 2 million copies in the United States alone.

"Thriller" is the greatest selling album of all-time, and anyone expecting Jackson to reach those heights again is being unreasonable.

But the guy is one of the greatest entertainers ever, and he has produced hit-after-hit for well over four decades.

I am a huge Michael Jackson fan (at least of Jackson's music), no matter how embarrasing it is to say.

My wife used to enjoy his performances. She says that Michael Jackson, pre-1985 (including the Jaskson 5 days) is one of her guilty pleasures. We have Thriller, a couple of Motown albums.
Granted, he is a strange person -- not that we mind strange people, in fact we are a bit odd ourselves -- but his "strangeness" goes a bit too far.
I doubt if his newest production will be commercially successful, at least not to the extent that his earlier releases were.

That's some good stuff. But after that, it's all crap.

The only thing I would support Michael Jackson doing is getting chemically castrated. (wow. where did that dark place come from?)

I doubt his comeback will be successful in the U.S.; his reputation is too tarnished. As others mentioned, though, he still has a huge following in Europe and Asia, so who knows.

Regardless of who he is as a person and what he may or may not have done, I I still like his music. He knows how to make a great album. And the man can definitely dance. Gotta give credit where it's due.

I read it was less than that. He supposedly only sang the chorus to We Are the World and struggled to do that and they had Chris Brown come out and sing Thriller as opposed to Jackson doing it himself. The article I read said the fans were rather disappointed by it.
