What a crazy night in college basketball. UNC gets a scare from Winthrop and Oral Roberts pulls the first stunner of the year upsetting #3 Kansas on its own floor by 7 tonight.

That is the beauty of college basketball. You take a team lightly and you get embarassed.
I love college hoops. Last night was a prime reason why. It's also great when overrated Kansas goes down. They may yet win the Big 12, but they're not a Final Four squad this year, despite what the preseason polls say.
I question rather Bill Self is going to be able to make Kansas an elite school. They have good players and a good history, but they have had a lot of letdowns. He reminds me of Flip Saunders in Detroit — good, but not up to the level of the prior coach, and the program is reflecting that.
Kentucky also played sluggish and poorly in a 56-47 win over Miami (OH). Another game tomorrow night. Game days are the best, so happy the season is here!
