I think my Top Ten is great and easily explainable. Yours ain't that bad...but it ain't perfect.

Alex's "Arkansas logic" still bugs the hell outta me. :P Every single time he puts 'em ahead of USC I have visions of my kids asking me why they got a C on their report card when they got an A on the final (nevermind the fact they bombed the first few weeks of the period).

I've watched both a number of times and I think that if they played on a neutral field right now, Arkansas would win. They played USC without McFadden. He is everything to that offense.

If Southern Cal finishes 11-1 and Arkansas finishes 12-1 and the Trojans go to the MNC game, I won't complain. They deserve it. I just think Arkansas deserves it more, especially sine they would get through the SEC undefeated and knock off a pretty good Florida to go along with wins over Auburn, Tennessee and LSU. To those of us without a vendetta against Dixie, that's a pretty damn impressive accomplishment.

USC's loss was also to a far inferior opponent. Arkansas, Florida, Michigan and Notre Dame all lost to teams that are no worse than 2-loss right now. Oregon State is 7-4.

Doesn't really matter who plays the Buckeyes though. The national champion has already been crowned.

You have Wisconsin at #3! That's the highest I've seen in here mush (gives mush a hug).

Is that the response you were looking for?

The "experts" claim the loser of the SEC Championship Game is gonna play Wisconsin in a bowl. I can't wait to get my hands on one of those two...

Alex...

I just don't understand how Arkansas could deserve it more over USC when USC beat 'em and will have a stronger SOS at the end of the year. You write that USC lost to an inferior opponent in comparison to Arkansas but Arkansas lost to USC!

It ain't logic, just my opinion.

Guess this where you get to harass me after I've been on your case about Wisconsin all year.

The opinion part I have no problem with. It's the deserving part that gets me. Wisconsin doesn't deserve anything over Michigan cuz Michigan beat them.

It baffles me.

I'm not sure what to think of LSU. They've played 8 home games this season. Eight! Even Notre Dame is saying, "Damn, that's a lot of home games." But all their road games, if I'm not mistaken, have been against top ten teams.

Then again, they nearly imploded last Saturday in their home finale. That certainly didn't help LSU's cause.

Mitch Mustain did not enter the USC game until the 4th Quarter, McFadden was still recovering from injury. I think people who put them ahead of USC thing that Arkansas has changed drastically since that game.

I understand the point you're making, and I think I apply it with my Louisville/WVU rankings, it's just that there are different circumstances involved.

Alex's "Arkansas logic" still bugs the hell outta me. Every single time he puts 'em ahead of USC I have visions of my kids asking me why they got a C on their report card when they got an A on the final (nevermind the fact they bombed the first few weeks of the period

I don't think you'll answer this, but I'm curious as to whether in your example here, the final is cumulative or if the course is just broken down into specific sections, without carry over.

at Auburn...L
at Florida...L
at Tennessee...W

They did destroy Arizona at home earlier this season. That helps them.

Beating LA-Monroe, Fresno, and Tulane at home does nothing for them.

I think they are are a #15 to #20 team right now with that game AT Arkansas waiting in the wings.

I think #21 is a bit harsh. After all, they nearly won that Auburn game. But I think Top Ten is too much. Damn this LSU porridge, it's either too hot or too cold.

PSU #19?! First thing you've done in months that I've loved! Still don't agree with it (Boise would hang 30 on the Nits and PSU would struggle to get to the 20s), but it's the highest I think I've seen PSU ranked for some time.

Well...LSU has 2 losses and I like to reward teams who played tough non-conf games even if they happened to lose those games.

That's why I put the following teams with 2 losses ahead of them...

Georgia Tech (ND)
Texas (Ohio State)
Oklahoma (Oregon)
Boston College (Central Michigan, BYU)
Nebraska (Southern Cal)
Maryland (West Virginia)
Penn State (Notre Dame...their 4 losses came to teams that are a combined 44-3...very impressive)
Auburn (beat LSU)

I guess you could make a case that LSU is better than V Tech and Wake but other than that...I'm happy with it.

Don't listen to mush...he's nothing but trouble. :P

Seriously though mush...do you think Florida could hang with Ohio State? I mean...your boy Leak loves throwing INTs to the middle linebacker and is also partial to lofting balls up to allow free safeties to come over and get a pick.

Well Florida's def may be able to control Troy Smith better then any team he's play thus far. But only for a little while. I think OSU would beat Florida on big plays and probably win by 10 or more.

I think it would be something like 45-13 in favor of OSU. I think there are only 3 teams that could give OSU at least somewhat of a game on a neutral field...

Michigan
USC
Wisconsin

Too bad you guys went ahead and lost a game and we probably won't see it happen. :P

I think OSU and Michigan are clearly the top two teams, with USC possibly overtaking Michigan depending on the remaining games. The SEC teams, Florida and Arkansas, are good, but not on the level of the top three, IMO. Hell, Florida has two QBs splitting time and they didn't blow me away when they played my Cats.

Boise State would hang 30 on PSU's D?

Considering Ohio State's offense and Michigan combined to score 31 on PSU's defense, I don't see how Boise State would manage 30. They rack up their numbers against lousy defenses. We all saw what happened when they left the smurf turf to play Georgia last season.

Penn State is a Top 10 team on defense and a Top 50 team (at best) on offense. And that average, about 30th, is where they belong right now.

If Morelli can learn how to play QB over the next 6 weeks in practice then PSU should be able to beat whatever SEC team they might face.

Seriously...who doesn't think Clarke isn't gonna battle him for the starting spot next spring.

I have high hopes for the Big Ten's top 4 teams in the bowl season (OSU, Michigan, Wisconsin, PSU). I think we can get 4 wins there with the way things are shaping up.
