See, we have only 2 undefeated teams left just like a playoff. So it is obviously going to be Boise State vs Ohio State. Right..............No? Oh, nevermind!
Seriously though.....Why when the PAC 10 teams play close games and/or take turns beating each other, the rest of the country says they are a bunch of mediocre teams or it just shows how weak the Pac 10 is. But when the same thing happens in the SEC those same people say that that just goes to show how strong and tough the whole SEC is and how good each team is?

Are you really trying to compare the Pac 10 with the SEC???????

What needs to be done about Boise State, etc. is obvious: What is now Division I-A needs to be split up, with the smaller schools being spun off into a separate level, to be known thereafter as Division I-AA, with the current Division I-AA being renamed Division I-AAA.
Then give all three of them their own separate postseason playoff tournaments.

Because the BCS/and any future playoff came/will come from the SEC and the national media likes to push that angle cuz it creates controversy and the bottom line: $. For a region so hellbent on being separate and left alone as far as social/political issues they sure do care a lot about what outsiders think of them when it comes to college football. I've never seen an alligator. I don't think any of 'em have ever seen a buckeye. Who cares?
Then the media ignores the fact that the other conferences hold their own or are better than the SEC head-to-head come bowl season. Whatever. Just hopin' for no rematch...though I guess that would be fair in this weird homogenized system.

That happens because 7 of the 10 Pac 10 teams are unranked (and only 1 in the top ten as opposed to 3 for the SEC), and when your supposedly best team in the conference (USC) loses to not one, but TWO unranked teams, that's why the conference is called mediocre......

Yeah...but aren't rankings subjective? I could say the SEC has a better case to make this year cuz they beat the Pac Ten pretty good in their head-to-heads (with the USC-Ark game being the notable exception) but in past years and with all the other conferences it seems like the SEC either holds their own or dips a little below head-to-head when we get to bowls. I know the Big Ten-SEC standings show a tie of 10-10 in bowls right now since the inception of the BCS. We have 3 games this bowl season so we'll get a clear leader as far as that goes. :D
