Unless he has a medical setback, Jon Lester should be ready to contribute to the Red Sox again next season. Here is a story: http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/6239460
I would not look to him to throw 200+ innings, but he should be able to pitch a time or 2 a week and become the pitcher they want him to be.

Yeah, read this today - even if he never came back, I'm just happy to see this 22 year old young man beat cancer!
I brought this up earlier (I think it was when Lester was diagnosed) A navy buddy of mine has cancer (testicular) anyway, I talked to him this weekend - he had his last surgery (8 hours!) and his don't said he is now "cancer free". Such good news to hear!

As one who has seen cancer survivors (my wife) and victims, I am also happy to see this "victory". I hope it is a permanent victory, not just a temporary one.

Glad to hear your wife made it C-man!! And I'm sure you see a lot of it being in the medical field. The medical wonders today are marvelous. Just seeing Lester on the field will be a great thing.

By the way, my mother in law, father and a brother have also beaten cancer, I guess I'm lucky in that way. I've lost 3 uncles to it, however.
Jon Lester will hopefully get a huge ovation the first time he takes the mound in Boston. I hope he throws his first pitch of next season there.

Yeah, that would be a fun game to be at. Nothing like being at games where players return from injury. Anyone ever been to one? I was at the Redsox Yankees game this summer when Peter Gammons came back. Crowd game him a standing O - that was cool.

I sure wish him the best. He has great potential.
