Something to think about. I was thinking about it... and if Sports Central is still around then, I don't see why I wouldn't. But you never know...

As long as I don't have to sign a contract or something I'd be willing to say I'll be around.:P

Title is fixed.
As far as me still posting here in 20 years, if people want to hear the rantings of an old man, I suppose I will humor them.

No... nobody will... you see the future is very clear... Hillary will be elected in 2008 and she will promptly give in to Al Qaeda... very shortly thereafter Osama will set up his tent on the National Mall and issue fatwahs, jihads, and stamp your camel parking passes. One of those fatwahs will be a mandate against sports in the United States; i.e., its elimination. This elimination will be based on the "New Muslim/American Book of Jihad Jurispudence of 2009," which will declare that organized sports is an insult to Allah and an impossibility for fat Muslims. Therefore sports will become extinct in the New America. As will sports discussion boards. Happily we will have the Osama's Hour of Power on cable (where Fox News use to reside) and El Malik's Tales of the Virgin on ABC... The internet, of course, will be unplugged, as it so offends Mohammed.
The only good thing to come out of this Islamic disaster will be that Freddie Adu and Tiger Woods (banned from sports) become best buds and political pols and run on a joint venture in 2012 on the Adu/Woods socialism ticket...
That is why I will not be posting here in 20 years. Neither will you. But the good thing in 20 years is that Iraq becomes a democracy and Donald Trump buys it. Baghdad becomes the new Las Vegas and peace reigns supreme... (btw... I heartily recommend the Muqtada al-Sadr penthouse suite at the Baghdad Hilton... primo!)

Your story is close inthenet, but Osama isn't going to set up at the National Mall, he will actually set up at differnt type of mall... The Mall of America...
Osama, quietly took over a Hollister (clothing store) in the mall and set up his camp. There, he spent sleepless nights planning how he would take over the mall of America. Unfortunately for Osama, word had spread that the Hollister was now Osama's hide-out. Word eventually got the King of The Mall America. Sitting on his thrown, in the secret dungeon below the Mall Of America, he called upon his knights, who were used to secure the moat surrounding the Mall of America and to secure the underground fortresses.
The night he got word, the King summoned his advisor's to the round-table at a KB Toys Store, which was where his military adviser did his planning and tested new weapons. The advisers decided that the best way to defeat Osama and save the world was to send a small army of remote control cars, strapped with bombs, through the secret hatch that connected Hollister and the secret tunnels, and destroy the Hollister that night, while Osama and his crew were sleeping.
The Knights secured the underground tunnels that night and started the spec. op. The generals guided the cars through the tunnels and while in the dark of the night, blew the Hollister to pieces. After the fire from the explosions were out, the Kings men searched for the bodies. They found a number of Osama's accomplice's bodies. There was no Osama in sight. They did however find a note that said " You may have won the battle, but you have not won the war. One day I will be back and I will be back with a Vengeance."

20-years from now we ought to be half-way to 20,000 posts in the 20,000 thread, and I am not quitting until we get there.
So, pencil me in for another forty!

I think IntheNet is a bit too harsh. The world he has envisioned will not happen.
Twenty years from now, the question will be not if you will be posting here, but if such a thing as posting even exists. I doubt it. I'm thinking about how far technology will be in 20 years. Twenty years ago, we had green text on black tube monitors, no graphics. Now everything's flat and wireless.

How crazy would it be if in 20 years we could be transported to a SC website in person and everybody who was "logged in" would be there, opening doors to different sports sections and whatnot. And then you could walk into the Lounge, sit down at the 20,000 replies table and ask, "Why aren't we at 20,000 yet?"
