I vote for "Lost" for Drama.
All I know is Dexter better win many awards, because that show is perfection; the best since the Sopranos.

Grey's Anatomy over 24 for Best Drama?
I got three of eleven right on my television predictions, simply by never betting against Helen Mirren or that in which she is involved.

I was so glad to see Kyra Sedgwick win best actress in a drama - IMO she is absolutely fantastic in The Closer

You need to check her out in the movie Loverboy, that her husband Kevin Bacon directed.

Alec Baldwin for 30 Rock.
The only dislike I have for the Golden Globes is their need to award new shows like 30 Rock and Ugly Betty.
Alec is good, but Jason, Steve and Tony are better.

Ugh! Alec Baldwin????
IMO Jason Lee or Steve Carrell should've won. Granted, I have never seen 30 Rock, but still...........

If you have seen one Alec Baldwin performance, you have seen them all.

Exactly.....
I don't know about you, but I am starting to get weary of Grey's Anatomy and Desparate Housewives. I have tried to keep up with them, but I guess I am just growing tired of the soapy aspect of these shows. Right now I am only into 24 and American Idol.....

I watched the first season of Desperate Housewives and I thought it was a very funny and clever show. Since then, the show has used too many over-the-top storylines and too many contrived situations to be taken seriously.
I have never understood the Grey's Anatomy phenomenon, but I have also never watched the show. From all of the previews and clips I have seen, it appears to be a soap opera in an evening time slot.
I am into 24 (as you could have guessed from that particular thread) and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (although, if that doesn't attract anymore of an audience, it will be cancelled at the end of the year).
I also enjoy American Idol (I watched on Tuesday, but not last night), but I am more of a fan of the actual competition than watching morons go out of their way to perform terribly in their audition just to be on television. That joke wore thin a long time ago.

I'm with you on that. I watch only a few of these "audition" shows with the morons mixed in with the talented singers, and then it gets old quick. I like when they are down to 10 women and 10 men - then I never miss a show....

We will have to start an American Idol thread at the point, so you and I can bicker back-and-forth about who had the better performance on Barry Manilow-theme night!

I was thinking about starting an American Idol thread, but didn't know if it would get enough interest. We should do it within the next few weeks....

Beginning next week I will have a chance to finally sit down and watch American Idol, although my girlfriend has said the guys are pretty disappointing this year.
In the college athletic office last night, I did catch some girl singing "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" from Aerosmith on one of the televisions someone was watching.
She was terrible. I don't think I have heard anybody do a different or better rendition of that song, and therefore it becomes annoying everytime somone attempts to sing it.
It's almost as bad as people trying to cover R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly."
Ugh.

After watching the last two nights, I have to say that it's a shame that 6 men have to be chosen for the final 12, because I would only pick about 3 of the 12 currently on there. The women overall are WAY better then the men, with a couple of exceptions (the girl you heard was one!)
Let's go ahead and start the AI thread.....especially since the first 4 are being eliminated tonight....

I will watch tonight and join into a discussion as soon as I see some of the performances, but I think we should make a friendly-wager soon on who we think will win!
