Just a thought w/all the political talk lately. Maybe a church and state board? It just seems that the lounge is just getting clogged w/nothing but political debate lately. A little is a good thing, but geez....

I'll leave the decision to Marc. If everyone wants such a sub-board, I'm sure it can be arranged.
This said, we have had a lot more political discussions in the Lounge lately. Maybe it is time for another forum for such discussions?

Actually, Mike, it is under consideration as we speak.
A politics subforum has been created. I toyed with creating a post limit so newbies can't post in it, but am holding off for now. I didn't include religion, but your ideas are welcome.

Maybe a lock on the door...on the outside. That way if a poster acts the fool, we can use it as a time-out room...

I think in this sense he would be more like a hired gun. He'd be given authority without having to answer to authority.
Wow...that is a scary thought. Maybe the world is coming to an end.

I should not be moderating the Political crap in The Lounge....
As most of the politics is American, I (as a Brit) should not be moderating.
:)

Heeeyyyy...wait a minute...
I wasn't that bad before when I was....was I??? :D
Besides, I'm a full service type-a- guy...keep the room neat, chairs in the upright position, & empty the discarded poster can every time it was full...:P

I don't think it matters. Do people yell and scream at each other without getting anywhere across the pond? If so...the job is yours.

Great sub-forum...
Now all we need to do is call Nanny 911 to help keep that little troll in it...

Marc,
Any thought or possibility of a LIVE chat room being attached to the board for entertainment, but also for live sports events that any of us may want to run like a live draft.
I would like to bring my Historical Football, Baseball, and Basketball League games here if I may. It would bring us some good serious new members who played in my historical leagues last year. We have a draft at the beginning of each season and also a trading period which is pretty exciting. But having a live chat room makes things flow alot quicker than just waiting for the next person in turn to post a thread.
Let me know if you have or would consider such a thing, and if you would have any objection to me running my 3 historical seasons here this coming year. The NFL draft and season begins in February with an expansion draft for new Owner/GMs and then the regular draft of free agents and historical players that are still not signed by a team.
I will have the website up and running again next month for all three leagues, teams, and players.

We had IRC for a while back in the day... not sure if it'd work again.

Yes, you are not the first to request this, and I have a new way in mind that is free and allows voice chat in addition to text: http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/main.jsp
I will look into setting it up the first week of 2007.
