View Full Version : I Have A Problem

I've been told by Mod I have a bad rep and my rep points are delinquent... therefore I can't post... (Man where is that First Amendment when you need it!)...
Therefore I am looking for Rep Points...
A bit about me: I am an unabashed conservative and shoot from the hip... I say what I think (good, bad, or otherwise). That often gets me in trouble but what the hay... If you think I shouldn't post herein ignore this thread; if you think all political opinion should be represented herein throw a few rep points my way (I'll return the favor).... I do try to follow discussion board rules btw...
Thanks...

I have no idea what rep points are, but you do speak your mind. Sometimes you can offend people and not know it. For example - I agreed with you about the Duke LAX case... but you prob should not of refrred to the woman in the case as a "whore", you know? Things like that can get you in trouble. Again, I agree with you, but I would of not called her that.
Just my opinion ITN - hope that helps :D

Who are these people who are actually giving and/or taking away reputation points?
I don't know how to, I don't want to know how to, and I couldn't care less where I rank "reputation-wise" amongst the rest of the posters here.
And I don't think that we should have to meet a set criteria that has been established for users to earn the right to post in certain threads based on reputation points.

#1) Marc has called off the reputation restriction (and any other restriction) on the political forum, at least for now.
#2) The purpose of reputation points, which is built in to the forum software, is to allow you to both give props to posts you really like and to demerit posts that you think are out of line. Unlike many message boards, we have never used "rep" points as a criteria for anything at all (until now, but even this is indefinitely on hold).
#3) You start off with 10 rep points. That's also the minimum # of rep points that WAS going to be required for entry into the political forum. If more people have given you a thumbs down than a thumbs up, you fall below ten.
#4) There's pretty strict limits on how often you can give someone, or take away from someone, rep points. So I can't praise or demerit Tarkus into oblivion. That's not important here, because again, we don't use the rep points for anything, but it is on other forums, where high rep is used to grant special privileges and low rep is used for probationary or punitive measures.
