As the Scooter Libby trial progresses, the corruption of the Bush administration is becoming more and more apparant. If it weren't enough that the right-hand-man to the vice president is going to serve jail time for his corrupt ways, now it appears as though Karl Rove and Dan Bartlett (both high ranking Bush members) are implicated in crime. Both have recieved subpoenas to appear and testify in the case. Karl Rove is in an intersting situation, because Libby's defense team has painted a picture that Libby was forced by higher ranking members (such as Rove) to carry out the acts that led to the obstruction of justice charge. Rove will be put in a situation to either implicate himself or he will be hurting the case of the defense.
Either way the case has demonstrated to the public that which so many of us have feared from the beginning: the corruption of the republican party. With the Jack Abramoff scandal, Bob Taft in Ohio, Mark Foley, and countless other republican corruption cases; combined with the obvious corruption of nearly every high ranking member of the Bush administration - the white house and the congress should be easy wins for the democrats in '08.
