My team, the Chicago White Sox, acquired Royce Clayton from Texas since they needed to make room for ARod. The Rangers got two minor league pitchers, Aaron Myette and Brian Schmack, in exchange. I'm kind of mixed on this trade. What hurt the Sox last season was mostly their lack of pitching depth. The two did pretty well for Charlotte last season and could have matured into solid pitchers, but then again, Clayton adds strength to the infeild. I guess we will see in the spring.

I'm intersted to see how this could develop.

I don't really like this trade. The Sox already had Valentin, and they gave him a new contract (right?), and he did very, very well last year. I didn't really see the need to trade for a guy like Clayton.

I would have kept the pitchers. Those pitchers may have helped them down the line and I doubt Clayton will make a huge impact right away. Two young pitchers could've given them some good years in the future and would add some good depth. Pitching is always important.

I agree. Like I said before, pitching was the Sox's main problem.

Yes, the Sox did extend Valentin's contract for 3 years. Somehow, the trade doesnt make sense.
