I was thinking, since some of us love those game threads like unscrambling athlete names, word association, alphabet soup, etc., we could create a subforum within The Lounge for all those. This would remove them from the main Lounge area for those who aren't interested and those who are could freely participate in their new subforum. The catch is only and ONLY in that subforum, post counts wouldn't count.

Do you guys think this is a good idea? All game threads from the past would be moved there and re-opened if they are closed.

I like the subforum idea. But leave the post counts alone. You tried that once Marc, and it didn't get a very good reception. Big deal if people post a lot on a game thread, everybody has a chance to with the word association and story time threads.

Who cares how many post counts you have? Total posts are not the point of these boards....the point is to chat about sports, or even other stuff. I don't see why it matters if the post counts come from baseball or from the lounge. A post is a post. Ive seen some boards where the total isnt even tracked.

Nate, it matters because I am the overall post leader of this board.

just joking :D

...it really doesn't matter to me if posts are counted in that forum or not; I do think it should be created.

The Lounge will still count for post counts, just the potential subforum wouldn't. I think we all agree posting one-word replies are "cheap", and although post counts really don't matter, some people seem to think they do.

With the approval of you guys, I wanted to create a subforum just for game threads, so you could participate in them if you wanted, but you wouldn't be able to increase your post count by 100 posts in a day from one thread.

I like it. I don't play those games, and I'd enjoy the lounge being a little less clutered. AS for the post count, I really don't care.

I still think even in the subforum you should just leave the post counts alone. Like Nate said, who cares who has the most posts? You can unclutter the lounge, and by now aren't all the post counts inflated by the games? Why change now?

The games don't seem to be as 'populated' as they once were either.
