I disagree.

It's useless to have it on every page.... I mean, I'm at every page on the SCMB for about 5 seconds..... 10 seconds MAX. I don't mind it on the front page, but I think it's useless on every other page.

...I think it would be MUCH more effective to have it load in a separate frame, make the font size bigger so it's actually readable without squinting OR being 2 feet away from the screen, and also have it running on the main SC site in a frame.

Thanks for the compliments and thoughts.

Lee, this ticker was implemented because it is designed to be as fast loading as possible. The font size has been increased slightly from size 10 to size 11 to improve visibility, although I didn't have a problem with it and I'm on a high resolution.

Well, the font is a large improvement... size 10 and bold is much, much better.... but.... I still don't see the point of it on every page, because it loads fresh on every page when I've already seen the first 3 or 4 lines of it.... that's why I'm suggesting to make it into a frame where it just goes continuous..... that way, I can watch it while my page loads (28.8, here! :( )

Lee, I see your point. I am not sure how your idea would be accomplished. I don't want to put an ugly frame at the top of the page - frames are a big no-no. I like its location and you can't put a frame like that in the center of a page easily or maybe even at all.

I know no way of making a little frame like that. The closest thing is something called an IFRAME, but even that refreshes on every page, so It would be pointless. I do see the point about how it refreshes though.

Lee, as a web designer, I can tell you that frames can mess up a briliant design, therefore making them "ugly". I'm not sure if that is what Marc meant or not, but most designers do not like frames. In the case of the boards, frames are not an option considering the whole page is revolved around having none. Hope that helps.
