View Full Version : Week 1 in the SCML
Ok, guys. I'm going to do a thread each week that will have the league matchups. Here they are:
Go Blue vs. Leopards
Kleptomania vs. Yankee Hatas
Iceman's Ice Cubes vs. The Jacksonians
SC Brandon vs. The Fourth and Long's
Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs. UA Bears
And since Fanball has decided to charge for live scoring :redhot:, I will put up scores on Sunday night, which will not count the Sunday night and Monday game.

alright, thats just stupid.
Lee, you're goin' down buddy ;)
I am in a Yahoo! league and I think we should use it for our next league. But this has been a good experience. Let the games begin!
I forsee the beginning of a very long and losing season for my Leopards.

...you all better watch out -- I'm going to take over this league even though I know absolutely, positively NOTHING about the NFL!!! :freak:  :redhot:
BOMBER FOOTBALL:
BLUE and BOLD
I'm not going through every box score, but I will post an estimate on who I think won, based on Sunday's day games.
Go Blue vs. Leopards
I think I won here with McNabb, Green and E. James
Kleptomania vs. Yankee Hatas
Kleptomania: Griese has not played yet, Walls was good, so was Owens and the same for Bruce. Jamal had good yardage and a TD.
Yankee Hatas: Williams and Faulk both had good yardage and each had a TD. Favre had great yardage and 2 TDs. Crowell did nothing and Holt had good yardage, but no TDs. Sharpe did nothing as well. Seahawks TM was excellent.
I'm giving this one to the Yankee Hatas. More later.

With week 1 of the 2001 season just about over, with only one game left tonight, between the Giants and Broncos, how did your team(s) do?
Overall, it was a really good week for me. I'm in 4 leagues (2 private, 2 public) and barring a huge game from Kerry Collins, I should be 4-0.
It must not have been a great week for everyone, though. A lot of big name players didn't play as well as they normally do. I'm sure guys like Stephen Davis, Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison, Eddie George, etc must have cost some of you a win.

Lee I still tink i can beat you..even though you are up 82-67
You have remaining:
RB Mike Anderson
I have:
RB Tiki Barber
TE Dwayne Carswell
PK Jason Elam
If Anderson and Barber are close I think I'll take this one.
Here are the scores and players left for tonight:
Go Blue 120 :D, Leopards 59
Players Left:
Amani Toomer-Go Blue
Ed McCaffrey-Leopards
Yankee Hatas 81, Kleptomania 69
Players Left:
Brian Griese-Kleptomania
The Jacksonians 77, Iceman's Ice Cubes 45
This is our first official final! You have won, Jackson!
The Fourth and Long's 77, SC Brandon 61
Players Left:
Rod Smith-The Fourth and Long's
This game is not official, but is a result, since the leading team only has MNF players.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers 82, UA Bears 67
Players Left:
Mike Anderson-Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Tiki Barber-UA Bears
Dwayne Carswell-UA Bears
Jason Elam-UA Bears
In tonight's action, I see both Kleptomania and the UA Bears coming from behind to win.
GO BLUE!!!

Great prediction...Mike Anderson isn't playing much, and Elam just missed a record attempting 64 yard fg. Wow was that close.
I must say, I am disappointed. I counted a lot on the Titans being good, and the lost. I have Eddie George as my RB on Fanball and the Titans D on Yahoo!, and since they lost, I'm in last or second to last in both leagues. Might need to make some changes.

Well Nick, you gave me a run for my money, but you don't mess with the Bombers (who, BTW, are on a 6-game winning streak in the CFL, and I am also going to see their Saturday game this weekend where they try to make it 7 in a row versus Edmonton... he he he :) ).... 89-83, the final score, for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

If Mike Anderson wouldn't have gotten a TD, we would have seen a tie game in Week 1!
from Fanball
Last Week (1) #2 Leopards was embarrassed by#1 Go Blue with a score of 74 - 141:lol:
