What is everyone's thoughts? -- has it already stared (began January 1, 2000), or will it really begin in 2 days (January 1, 2001)?
Obviously, it begins January 1, 2001. There was no "year 0"... the first year of AD was 1, so 1000 years from that is 1001, which means that is the year the 2nd millenium began, and the year 1000 was the last year of the 1st millenium.... so logic now tells you that the year 2000 is the last of the 2nd millenium, and the 3rd millenium really begins the year 2001.
However, not many people understand that... what about the people that visit these boards???
And that "Y2K bug" and "year 2000 doomsday" was just a big hoax so companies could get more money for the suckers wanting to stock up on food... the only bugs were going to be electronical ones, and those were very, very minor because they were recognized early enough... I laughed at all those newspapers saying the world was going to end at the start of the millenium for 2 reasons:
1) The 3rd millenium really doensn't begin until January 1, 2001
2) The earth has been here for thousands and thousands and thousands of years... why would it end NOW!?
