You have Major League Baseball, where far too many teams are not, and will not until something big happens, be competitive (Twins, Expos, etc.), you have the possibility for another player's strike with huge, bloated contracts being signed all the time now, and empty ballparks.

You have the National Basketball Association, where player's are thought of (and often, rightfully so) as being selfish, rich, jerks, you have violence and drugs, abuse, empty arenas, and far, far too many kids coming out of high school who aren't ready for the pros, thus lowering the overall quality of the game.

There you have it. Which league is in worst trouble?

Well, I'm a true hockey fan, so I think the National Hockey League is in the biggest trouble... with their recent over-expansion, the quality is much too low, and whenever Americans turn on the TV, they see fights and think that that's what hockey is all about when really it isnt -- and America is suspose to be the big market for the game.

But between the two you mentioned, I think the MLB is in the biggest trouble because of greedy guys like A-rod and Martinez, and it's only going to get worse... there are two REALLY low-market teams (the ones you mentioned), but most of the teams other than those ones in baseball can compete economically -- but not with $150 million- and $252 million-dollar deals: it's getting out of hand.

Greedy guys? I'm sorry... I can't blame guys for wanting to get the most they can, because I'd do the same.

I think that neither of them are in much trouble. I really don't think baseball will strike.

In basketball, I don't think kids coming out of high school poses real "trouble" persay. Whoever the team thinks is better, should be on the team, old or young. I don't really think it waters down talent that much, if at all. Just building your future, its part of the game.

I also think that the drugs and abuse are really just overdone by the media when they happen and are not as many as we'd think. But, we can only speculate.

National Basketball league is in the most trouble. For the following reasons.
#1- They are really losing intrest in the young adult area and fans are losing intrset uin general.
#2- The NBA had the strike back in(I forget) I think 99 which made fans lose intrest in the game.
and
#3- Its begining to look a lot like baseball. Where tons and tons of people are begining to worry about theuir salary more than their play.
Well thats just my opinion though.

I say basketball. Baseball has been through a strike already so even if another occurs it probably won't last too long. Basketball is in the biggest trouble. It is true that many adults don't follow the sport anymore. Most of my family is fed up with the NBA and they only watch NCAA basketball now. I also agree that the NHL is in trouble. They are expanding into areas where nobody even follows hockey. All three sports are in trouble but I believe the NBA is in the biggest of all.
