Rumors will made fact that Hingis and Kournikova split as doubles partners. They did have a clash last year in an exhibition match, but Hingis just says that she doesn't want a year round partner. Hingis and Kournikova are the defending champions for the Australian Open. Now Hingis is scheduled to play with Seles at the AO. Anyone think that they will do well together? I think that they should make a good team!!! I don't think the article said anythign about a new partner for Kournikova...

Sorry to disappoint you, but Anna has already promised that I will be her steady partner when she doesn't have one in mind.

I was talking to a source close to the tour and it may well be that the two russian beauties will wind up full time partners by the French. Kournikova is already one of the best doubles players, and a large percentage of her tourney winnings comes from it. Add Dementieva to the mix, and you have an incredibly photogenic and capable team, and they should be equally hard to beat. If it was my money, I'd pick the two ruskies to beat the Williams in any tournament.

Hingis and Seles will make it to the semi's of the AO, mostly because the field in women's doubles is still pretty slim. If all goes as planned, it will probably be the Williams sisters vs. either the Kournikova team or the Lisa Raymond team. I'll have to do a little more digging before I finalize these picks though.

There is an outside chance that Raymond may hook up with Anna. They'd be unbeatable.
