Well we will soon be entering week 9 of the college football season,m and the heisman campaign has pretty much unfolded itself thus far:

At the beginning of the season, these were the frontrunners:

Ken Dorsey
Chris Simms
Joey Harrington
Kurt Kittner
Eric Crouch
Woddy Dantzler
Damien Anderson
Ken Simonton

Now, since Kittner, Simms, Anderson, and Smonton have faded away, we have seen some new faces step up:

David Carr
Rex Grossman
DeShaun Foster

Now in my opinion, Joey Harrington could be finished due to the Ducks # 11 ranking, if his last four games aren't big he is done.

As for Foster, He needs to show up next Saturday to get back in, he slipped Saturday, rushing for only 77 yards, but he still has a chance.

Dantzler rejuvinated his run with a big game yesterday.

Crouch may have locked it up after HE REALLY STEPPED UP AGAINST OKLAHOMA! He didn't have big numbers, but he played a huge role in that win!

As for Grossman, he just had another excellent game, throwing for 407 yards and 2 TD's, he could have it locked as well. The same story goes with Carr, who had a 400-yard day on Thursday, but FSU lost. And last but not least, Ken Dorsey, in many people's minds, he has the trophy already, he has lead Miami to a 6-0 start, and could finish with a 13-0 campaign.

Here's a look at the stats, Harrington and Dorseys stats are both as of Oct. 22nd.

Rex Grossman- 2,636 yds 24 TD's,7 INT's, 65% completions, 185 rating

Ken Dorsey- 1,415 yds, 11 TD's, 3 INT, 59%, 165 rating

David Carr-2,445 yds, 17 TD's, 3 INT's, 151 rating, 64 %

Joey Harrington-1,678 yds, 16 TD, 5 INT, 58 % , 142 rating

Woody Dantzler-1,480 yds passing, 4 INT, 64%, 138 rating
698 yds rushing, 114 carries, 6 TD

DeShaun Foster- 1,001 yds, 167 carries, 10 TD

Eric Crouch- 1,088 yds passing, 798 yds rushing, 14 TD

Right now, I think it is between Crouch and Grossman, whoever puts up bigger numbers and gets more W's in the next 4 games will win.

Who do you think will win the Heisman Trophy?

Grossman, I believe. His numbers are top and he is on a top BCS team, although I doubt Florida is a title contender anymore with that loss. Crouch, I agree is second, but his numbers don't compare.

Does he have any shot at the Heisman? Is he even getting national attention? I don't follow College Football very much but he's having an outstanding year. Just wondering if he is even being mentioned.

I voted for Florida's Rex Grossman-His numbers are gaudy. He is the best QB without a doubt.

If this isn't a microcosm of why only major college teams get Heisman trophy candidates, I don't know what is.

BTW, he plays for Boston College.

As for my opinion on the topic, The Big 12 Homer will have to rule over the SEC Homers (Bama and Marc) and I think Crouch will get it.

I'm surprised nobody has voted for Ken Dorsey. He just set a new Miami Hurricane passing TD record with 50. I bet he will throw at least eight more before the regular season ends. Waht do you all think of his chances, but I agree Eric Crouch will probably win it. I think he is more of a complete player than Dorsey. I still like Grossman too, but since they won't win a National Championship he will not get it.

Well, a lot has happened in one month since this thread was active. Surprisingly, no votes for Dorsey. Who is your *updated* pick? I will have to go with Crouch - just because what he has done in his career and his season has been outstanding, even with that one shocking loss. Why did I change it from Grossman? Because he would have to have a nearly perfect season since he is a sophmore, that works against him. Unfortunately, his loss to the Vols will hurt him a lot.
