That's right, fans! After a long, long seven months of offseason, the 2001 college basketball season tips off tonight in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic in legendary Madison Square Garden, an event yours truly had the pleasure of attending last year.

A lot of new storylines will headline this year's season. Rick Pitino makes his comeback in Louisville to the college game he loves and thrives in. Pitino's game against his former team is a game Kentucky fans have had marked on their calendars ever since he took the job. They are calling for his head, and they will finally get to face the "traitor".

Bob Knight makes his comeback in the some way, at Texas Tech. Can he keep his cool and just how successful will this team be?

A lot of exciting, talented freshmen come in this year, as well, including freshmen sensation Dajuan Wagner, who decided to play on year under former Nets and UMass coach John Calipari.

Jason Williams and Duke are again contenders, minus Shane Battier, as well.

Are you EXCITED, fans? Bring on the season!

I am so excited for this season, and it begins with some great games in the Garden. From November to March, you can count on me being in tune with college basketball.

I'm thinking Duke will end up dominating, Knight self-destructing but somehow getting something out of that Texas Tech team, Pitino starting to build a solid team. The team I would watch for is runner-up Arizona. They may be unranked, but this young team could possibly surprise, especially after beating Maryland last night.

Yeah, how about them? Just watching the highlights on the game, you would have thunk it? An unranked team who returns only one starter being the No. 3 team predicted to challange for the national title. What a game!

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this season. Too bad my Boilers are going to suck this year. We do have 4 returning seniors, but I dont think it is going to help us out very much. Go Boilers!
