I want to know who all of your fantasy gurus out there build your football teams around: the running back or the quarterback? Which is more important?

If I can get Kurt Warner or Peyton Manning - then its QB. If I can get Marshall Faulk or Edgerrin James - its RB. If I can get Randy Moss or Marvin Harrison, which might be the case if I end of picking later, that its WR.

Yeah, but I'm saying if you had ANY player, who would be your first choice? (as in position)

Any player? QB Kurt Warner. :)

Quarterbacks last longer so I'd build my team around Donovan McNabb.

As for the player to build your team around, I would have to say either Faulk or James.

I think the RB position is the hardest and best postion to fill in first. I won the championship this year in one of my leagues and I had the first overall pick.

With that pick, I drafted James.

Do you know who my QB was? Gannon, who i drafted in the 8th round :)

For years now that i have been playing fantasy football, I have always drafted a RB first.

Needless to say, I have been pretty successful :)

If you're in a keeper league, with so many good young QB's right now, I'd go after one of them.

If it's a one year thing, I would draft a RB probably. Since most places I play at play two RB and one QB a week, I'd want a good RB. Of course, I didn't follow that advice last year and picked Moss and Keyshawn and ended up first, but last out in the playoffs. :redhot:

IMO, you always build a fantasy team around the anchor of a real pro team.

In baseball, that's the pitcher.
In hockey, that's the goalie.
In football, it's easily the quarterback who anchors the offense, so my choice is the QB!

I say the QB. Gotta go with Peyton Manning.

Definatley the QB, he runs the offense and controls everything on the offensive side of the ball. He controls the RB for god-sakes so why build around a player who doesn't have complete control of the players.

I would still draft a RB first. You can always get a quarterback later. You get a stud RB that will get you 15-20 touchdowns and a quarterback that will get you 30 TDs. How many RB's will get 15-20 TD's a year? Not many.

As for qb's there are a bunch that can get near or over 30 td's a season.

The age old quetion- QB or RB??? hmm. Im gonna go with Faulk a RB. He may not be the most reliable player, but although he may miss a game or two, he still finishes in the top 3 scores, you cant beat that. Also, I think many QB's stats fluctuate over the years, there are few QB's that put up unbelievable stats in consecutive years. If not Faulk, then Edgerrin. I dont select by position, I take best availble player, which is how I beleive everyone should select. I wont be afraid to take a QB.
