I pasted the important sections because I thought they might get rid of the story.
Woods was about ready to hit a 20-foot birdie putt on the ninth hole, his last, when a spectator threw a large orange from a hill that went rolling across the green about 30 feet from Woods. He stepped back and looked into the crowd, then missed the putt.
"It could have been dangerous if he had hit someone," Woods said. Police detained a 15-year-old boy, and tournament officials said that they planned to press charges. The officials said the boy told them he threw the orange on a dare.
The incident came on an otherwise calm day that drew an estimated 72,000 fans to one of the tour's most popular — and raucous — stops. Tournament organizers had worked to limit the rowdiness of earlier years, which included a man being arrested carrying a gun while taunting Woods two years ago.

NO... not amusing at all!
...I've never ever been to a PGA or SPGA event or, actually, ANY event... I haven't even played at the tournaments at my local course... but I think all spectators should have to take a course on how to watch golf!... I know it's impossible, but that is what should happen -- playing golf are these peoples JOBS... how would that 15-year old kid like it if, when he was 20-something, had an orange thrown at him when he was working pumping gas -- my best guess at where he'll end up by his actions... but if he succeeds to be a multi-millionaire, what if some guy threw an orange through the window of his office on the 17th floor with glass flying into his face?... same situation.
...sorry... people like that just make me mad...

Yeah I agree but with the amount of people at these tournaments it's amazing that they get cooperation for the most part. I mean have you ever seen 100,000 people gathered in one place and when one of these guys is putting you can hear a pin drop! (well...)
Tiger surely doesn know how to attract attention. I do hope that kid gets charged however.

You're right, Ravi, they already did remove it.
I think it's just a stupid action by a kid, but he should be punished. I guess not everyone is a Tiger fan!

I agree with whatever everyone has said. One of the draw's of golf events is the cooperation that the majority of spectators show. But, as with everything, there are a few bad apples in every bunch, so to speak.

Yet another incident -- a fan bumped into Tiger on Wednesday, causing a slight knee problem.
Tiger hasn't played like he did last year at the US Open at Pebble Beach -- I think he's 5 under par after two days at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am this weekend, and the leader is at -13.
The ONE time there wasn't a security gaurd or something by him, he gets hurt. Why don't fans just learn to keep their distance and let the guy work -- this IS his job...

I wish I knew. Some people just get totally freaked out. Start jumping, screaming, etc. I mean, I met Ken Griffey, Jr. He had no security, nothing, and this was a place with a million people of all different backgrounds. I walked up, spoke politely, and got an autograph. If people could just act correctly, some athletes wouldn't want to avoid fans.
Although thats not what happened here exactly, I was just talking about how people act. Tiger should sue for all the guys worth! lol just kidding :) Tiger should just do what he did.
